Sarah Palin tries to tie oil and Christian education into a knot

From KXnet
Sarah Palin, who was a candidate for vice president when John McCain ran for president six years ago, addressed a sold-out auditorium at Williston State College this evening.
Palin was in Williston as a keynote speaker for the Trinity Christian School fall banquet.
North Dakota surpassed Alaska in oil production in March of 2012.
According to the US Energy Information Administration, Alaska produced 13 million barrels of oil in July.
In that same month North Dakota produced 34.4 million.
Palin talked about oil production and the impacts it can have on christian education.
Early in her presentation she spoke of previous time spent in North Dakota including her favorites: a UND hockey game and the Northern Lights this far 'south.'
(Sarah Palin, Former Governor of Alaska)"Driving to and from North Dakota to see our son, I remember early, early one morning, it was very dark outside, everybody's asleep in the rig and I'm at the wheel and I am shocked to look up and see these spectacular Northern Lights in North Dakota. I had no idea.
You can see the Northern lights in North Dakota and the northern half of Minnesota, but I doubt Sarah actually saw them as she is a habitual liar.  I doubt she ever saw a UND hockey game either.  She probably doesn't even know Ralph Englestad is.  BTW Ralph is the UND hockey alum who financed the building of the hockey arena UND plays at in Grand Forks.  He also was pretty controversial in collecting Nazi war memorabilia and dressing as Hitler at a birthday party.  Hey maybe Sarah does know of him!
So how can you tie oil production with Christianity?  You can't.  In the bible Jesus calls us to be stewards of the earth.  Drilling for oil is not stewardship.

So far President Obama has accomplished 100% of his domestic agenda

 From Politicusua

Obama’s presidency is no longer historic just because of his race, but also because this president has accomplished 100% of his domestic agenda.

Jonathan Chait summed it up, “On January 20, 2009, when Obama delivered his inaugural address as president, he outlined his coming domestic agenda in two sentences summarizing the challenges he identified: “Homes have been lost, jobs shed, businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly, our schools fail too many, and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet.” Those were the four major areas of domestic reform: economic recovery measures, health-care reform, a response to climate change, and education reform. (To the justifiable dismay of immigration advocates, Obama did not call for immigration reform at the time, and immigration reform is now the only possible remaining area for significant domestic reform.) With the announcement of the largest piece of his environmental program last

Monday, Obama has now accomplished major policy responses on all these things.”

The fact that Obama has accomplished everything that he has while confronting unprecedented Republican obstruction makes what he has done all the more incredible. Republicans set out to block the entire Obama agenda, and make him a one term president. They failed on both points.
In the face of such day to day frustration over the Republican refusal to govern, it is easy to forget how much that this president has achieved. He has ended two wars, been bold on education reform, put the economy back on track, and most importantly has delivered a healthcare reform that has helped hundreds of millions of Americans beyond the newly insured.

Republicans love to label this president, and his presidency a failure, but nothing could be further removed from the truth. All presidents leave something undone in their domestic agenda. This isn’t the case with President Barack Obama. There is definitely more to do, but it would be a disservice to view the Obama administration as the post-Bush reboot of America.

President Obama has built a lasting legacy, and his leadership has transformed America for the better. The next president is going to have a tough act to follow trying fill the shoes of Obama.

Suck on that Republicans!  And thank youMr. President!  Imagine how much more he could accomplish on international affairs.

Sarah Palin takes a break from promoting her show to discuss Nigeria

OBAMA TWITTERING TEETERS TOWARDS CHAOS

This photo says it all about the Obama administration’s reliance on junior high-like tweets and tickles in place of a foreign policy rooted in peace through strength. Diplomacy via Twitter is the lazy, ineffectual, naïve, and insulting way for America’s leaders to deal with major national and international issues. It’s embarrassing. Under Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton’s State Department repeatedly refused to recognize Boko Haram as terrorists despite their conventional, predictable Islamic terrorist rants, training, and mission. Now, in a life or death situation, nearly 300 kidnapped Nigerian girls are in the hands of these terrorists awaiting rescue.

And what is the Obama administration’s weapon of choice in this battle for these young girls’ lives? Hashtagging tweets on social media! I kinda-sorta doubt a tweet will intimidate the kidnappers much. So, if you’re going to jump in and do something about these Islamic terrorists at all, then do it right, do it firmly, and kick their ass.

Like the patriot writes in this photo, winning takes Warriors. If you intend to rescue these innocent girls whose only “crime” was seeking an education despite the threats of insane Islamic terrorists who drag women back to the Stone Age (see, Liberals, THAT is the real “war on women” so quit making it up that conservatives wage it), then you need to send a message to the world that our United States military is the strongest force to protect the good guys, and the most deadly against the bad guys. Pretty simple, the world needs to know America is still on the side of the good guys.

If you’re going to get involved anyway, Mr. President, learn to understand this and believe it, then announce it: Victory is only brought to you “courtesy of the red, white and blue.” It’s certainly not won by your mere “unfriending” the bad guys on Facebook. Leading from behind is not the American way.

For starters Skanky President Obama has sent several military advisers to Nigeria to help with the situation. Rescuing those girls is not an easy task due to the terrain in Nigeria. An airstrike could get them all killed.

The girls were kidnapped a month ago, Skanky you never said a word about it until President Obama released a tweet about it to bring it to everyones attention. You use Twitter and Facebook all the time you hypocrite.

You really are not concerned about those girls. You are taking a deplorable situation to attack the President and that is treasonous. Cunt.

Sarah Palin hates higher education

First of all congrats to Willow on her graduation from Hair University.

Of course Sarah has to make all about her:

From Fuckbook:

Kids: Follow Your Dreams, But Be Practical To Be Employable…

As my family travels to Arizona for Willow’s graduation this week, allow me to be a proud mom in congratulating Willow and her classmates at Penrose Academy on this achievement a...nd also offer advice to young people that I always give in graduation speeches about following your dreams.

In planning for her future, Willow thought long and hard about what kind of work would make her happy and provide her with a good income in today’s economy. She’s artistic and has an interest in making people feel and look their best, and as an entrepreneur with a strong work ethic she desires to be her own boss as a small business owner. With all that in mind, she decided to finish her high school requirements quite early and enroll in an academy for hair and skin, which allowed her to study abroad, visit the sets of major media productions, and work with the best of the best in the industry. She’ll be graduated this week with no debt and a great career ahead of her doing something she loves in a recession-proof industry (everyone needs their hair cut after all!).

It’s crucially important today for young people to think about the big picture when making education decisions. And the big picture is the goal of self-reliant business opportunities based on work ethic and not entitlements. One of the reasons I aggressively encouraged vocational training opportunities as governor of Alaska is because they lead to good paying jobs and happy careers. Young people should not be pressured into assuming that a college degree is the only path to employment today. It’s not. Some college degrees obviously lead to clear professions, like those in the medical and engineering fields, but that’s not the case with many of the liberal arts degrees young people today gravitate toward either because they aren’t sure what they want to do after college or because they’ve been led to believe that college life is a sort of rite of passage for any career. That might have been the case once, but the salary and career opportunities a liberal arts education alone can get you have been dramatically limited these days. It’s so sad to see young people holding expensive college diplomas that come with no practical job opportunities.

I’m not discouraging a student from getting a liberal arts degree if that is his or her dream. I am always for following your dreams. How could I be against a liberal arts education when I myself got a liberal arts degree in journalism/communications from the University of Idaho? However, I knew when I was graduated from high school what I wanted to do, so it wasn’t as if I was embarking on an expensive voyage of self-discovery. And I’m proud of the fact that I was able to pay for my degree myself and graduate debt free. See how times have changed? Back then I was able to work my way through college and pay as I went. I had to go to school part-time some semesters in order to work and intern full-time, so it took me five years instead of four to get my bachelor’s degree, for which I've been roundly criticized by the liberal media (but how many of those critics were shackled in debt after they perhaps gallivanted around the globe with their daddy’s credit card in their backpack before finally finishing college and snagging that gig at MSNBC?). It was actually possible back in the ‘80s to graduate debt free. Nowadays it is next to impossible unless you have a full scholarship. Students today often graduate with the equivalent of a mortgage in college debt for a degree they’re not even sure they can parlay into a job. As Daniel Mitchell recently wrote, young people are buried in college debt “yet they are having a hard time finding jobs because Obama’s policies are stunting the economy’s performance. And even if they do find a job, the research suggests they will get paid less. Not just today, but for the foreseeable future.”

Follow your dreams, by all means. But don’t be blind to the fact that your dreams might be achieved outside of acquiring an outrageously expensive traditional college degree. Do not be lulled into thinking that good jobs grow on trees or that the government will somehow take care of you. The bottom line is – as my dad always told me – find out what you love to do, then find out how to make a living doing it. Learning a trade can do both. No one can take those vo-tech real life skills away from you. They lead to independence, satisfaction, and a paycheck. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Kudos to Willow and all Class of 2013 students for taking this lesson to heart. We’re so proud of her!

The only reason Willow graduated debt-free is 1-she got paid for Bristol's reality show or 2-SarahPac paid for it.

I'm more convinced than ever that Sarah did not graduated from UI.  Sure there is a pic of her in a graduation gown but some colleges allow students walk then finish up their coursework in the summer.  That pic could also be Heather or Molly too and Sarah photoshopped it.

As for me I'm proud to say I'm educated.  I started out at a community college, got my associates degree, transferred to a four year college.  However after a semester at the university I got bored and wanted to work, so I dropped out.  I got a job not making big money but at least a livable wage.  I enjoyed having a little money in my pocket so I never returned.  At the time I enjoyed my job so money wasn't a huge factor

Fast forward to 2012.

By this time I was stuck in a dead-end job but paid well.  Between college and 2012 I did bounce around from a few different jobs, had a job working for the local school district as an administrative assistant but was laid off due to budget cuts (thanks Tim Pawlenty!)  So I took a job that was to be temporary but was hired on by the company and I ended up there for four years.  I hated it, management and the people I worked with were lazy and didn't give a shit.  So I went back to school to be a travel agent, a profession I was always interested in but no schools nearby had a program for it.  I was able to take the class online, got high grades, a diploma, and a job six months later.

Yes education is important!  Doesn't matter if you want to be a travel agent, hairdresser, or a doctor.  If you want to be a doctor don't let the cost deter you.

Willow Palin really is going to hair school?

Willow Palin competed in a Vidal Sassoon inspired Bob Competition at Penrose Academy in Scottsdale, Arizona.

I'm surprised Willow actually enrolled in "hair school", cuz Bristol never did after she said she was going to become an aesthetician which requires school.

I'm going to be blunt here, but Willow is the first child of a major political candidate to do something like this.  Joe Biden's sons Hunter and Beau are attorneys and daughter Ashley is a social worker.  Liz Cheney went to law school and later worked for the state department.  Mary Cheney has a business degree and worked for the Colorado Rockies.  Chelsea Clinton was a Rhodes Scholar, is pursuing a doctorate and worked for a consulting firm.  One of Al Gore's daughters is an attorney and another is a novelist.  Alexandra Kerry is a film maker and Vanessa Kerry is a doctor

Jenna Bush is a teacher and Barbara has worked with several non profit groups.

All of these kids have bachelors degrees and some have masters, while one has a Dr's and another one is pursuing a doctorate.  None of the Palin kids have gone on to a four year college.  Maybe Piper and Trig will break that tradition.

There is nothing wrong with going to hair school.  You would think Sarah would encourage her kids to do more, but she is just as lazy.

Fred Phelps protege running for state school board in Kansas

 From Gawker

Get to know Jack Wu, a God-fearing Christian man running for a seat on the Kansas Board of Education.

Here are a few key points: Wu thinks evolution is a "satanic lie," he believes most of us are going to hell, and he's an active member of the Westboro Baptist Church, those assholes with the "God Hates Fags" signs.

He also loves reality TV.

In other words, Wu is a complete nightmare, but he doesn't care what you think of him.

The truth matters more than the opinion of other men and women. The Bible says if you're hated by other people for taking a stance that's not popular, it's like a sign you're chosen by God, almost.

Unfortunately for Wu, God doesn't vote. And Wu is going to need a lot of help: so far, his campaign contributions total five dollars.

Nevertheless, Wu's opponent Carolyn Campbell is taking him seriously. It's a critical time for Kansas, as the state seeks to adopt new standards that would teach evolution and leave out creationism entirely. Wu is obviously against these changes — but then, he believes public education is already "preparing its students to be liars, crooks, thieves, murderers, and perverts."

Here are Wu's campaign goals, as outlined on his (amazingly bad) website:

Evolution should never be taught in public schools as science. Evolution is false science! God made the heaven and the earth and created humans from the dust of the earth! The very bad teachers that teach that men descended from apes via evolution need to have their teaching licenses revoked. Yes, students should be taught that God created everything.
School administrators are always complaining about budget problems and lack of funding for this or that. Haha, that's funny. I have a really simple solution to solve that problem: Eliminate funding for evolution textbooks and pseudo-education. We'll save a ton of money! Tell those evolution textbook publishers to recycle their waste of paper, and tell those evolution teachers to teach truths instead of lies.

Why isn't anyone else talking about these incredible money-saving techniques? Let's not rule them out just because they're insane.

Wu has at least one semi-endorsement from WBC spokesman Jonathan Phelps, who said, "I think he's a nice guy."

When someone who protests military funerals calls you "nice," it's probably time to do some serious self-reflection.

I think it's safe to say this guy isn't going to get elected dog catcher, let alone school board member.  But then again this is Kansas.

I checked out his website and all I can say is Oh. My. God.  Maybe he can get Sarah Palin, the Bachmanns, and Paul Ryan to endorse him.

Here is his bio:

Jack Wu grew up in Hayward, California. He attended a public elementary school there and was introduced to the theory of evolution at that school. Jack fell victim to the lies of his evil teachers and thought evolution was real science for a time.

After elementary school, Jack attended a private "Christian" school. There, Jack was taught that God created the world and the universe. At first, Jack stuck with his old pseudo-science evolution-based cosmology. However, the light of the holy scriptures burned all those trashy concepts away. Jack now knows that God is the Creator of all things.

Jack moved to Topeka, Kansas after seeing the light of Westboro Baptist Church. There, he found people that loved and served the Lord their God sincerely. The church stands amidst the evil city of Topeka, whose citizens among other things tried to burn down the church.

This is why sex education is so important

Antonio Cromartie a football player with the NY Jets has ten kids with eight women living in six states.

His wife is expecting twins so by the end of 2012 he will have a dozen kids with eight women.

This guy has 30 kids with eleven women

This woman has had 15 abortions.

A teenage girl in the UK has had eight abortions

And the Republicans want to cut funding for sex education and birth control.

Classes started two days ago in the Mat-Su School District

Is Piper enrolled this year or is Sarah "homeschooling" her? Inquiring minds want to know.

Piper should be in sixth grade this year.

Sarah's college education, or lack of

We all know Sarah took 5 years and about 5 colleges to earn a Bachelors degree which came from the University of Idaho. However we have no idea what her grades were or what her class rank was.

President Obama graduated valedictorian of his class at Harvard Law School

John McCain was 5th from the bottom of his class at the Naval Academy

Joe Biden was 506th out of 688 in his class. He admitted he spent more time playing football and hanging out with his girlfriend than studying.

What was Sarah's class rank?

WTF? Bristol want to be a beautician?

From Celebs.gather.com

When the world last heard of Bristol Palin, she was thoroughly enjoying her 15 minutes in the glare of the spotlight. She'd written her autobiography, Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far, and she was all set to do her own reality show with Kyle Massey, her fellow Dancing With The Stars contestant. Reportedly, neither of those projects worked out for her. Her reality show may never be aired, and, apparently her book is of interest only to chronic insomniacs. And with Sarah Palin mercifully no longer running for anything, her dancing daughter seems destined to return to the obscurity from which she came. Or not. Plucky Bristol Palin has thought of another way to realize her "desperate" dream of making it in Hollywood. She's going to cosmetology school.

Yes, that's right--cosmetology school. While doing hair and nails might not seem like the quickest way to fame and fortune, Bristol Palin has a plan. Inside sources report that:

"Bristol wants to go to cosmetology school...near her home in Arizona so she can get away from the Alaskan winter. After graduating next year, she wants to look for jobs in the movie industry. Bristol's realizing her bout of fame and big-money offers in Hollywood is dwindling..., so she needs a backup plan."

Apparently, Bristol Palin thinks a career in cosmetology will enable her to return to "rubbing shoulders with the stars and making money." And who knows, perhaps it will. More power to her. As long as she doesn't pursue a career in politics. Or dancing.

Yep. Sounds like the gravy train has derailed. Can't imagine anyone would want to hire her though. Except for this place:

This is the Beehive Salon in Wasilla AK. Granny Grifter's salon of choice. And looking at Sarah's hair (or wigs) their standards are low.

Yesterday classes started in the Mat-Su school district

Does anyone know if Willow and Piper are enrolled?

Willow was kicked out of Colony High School last year for misbehavior and was going to be home schooled. Not sure if that panned out or not. Rumor has it that Willow was sent to a clinic in New York State for anger management.

Willow would be a senior this year but I believe she was held back in Jr. High. During the campaign Todd was concerned about one of the kids flunking, it was probably Willow.

As we all know Piper's school attendance has been abysmal at best. She could have been tutored while on all those trips with Sarah but I highly doubt it. Last I knew she was attending Cottonwood Elementary.

I feel sorry for those girls.

Reason #70 not to vote for Sarah Palin for anything

She can only write at the 8th grade level.

From AOL Weird News

The huge cache of Sarah Palin's emails released Friday offered not only a chance to see what she was writing about during her uncompleted term as Alaska's governor, but also an opportunity to see how well she writes.

AOL Weird News brought samples to two writing analysts who independently evaluated 24,000 pages of the former governor's emails. They came back in agreement that Palin composed her messages at an eighth-grade level, an excellent score for a chief executive, they said.

"I'm a centrist Democrat, and would have loved to support my hunch that Ms. Palin is illiterate," said 2tor Chief Executive Officer John Katzman.  "However, the emails say something else. Ms. Palin writes emails on her Blackberry at a grade level of 8.5.

"If she were a student and showing me her work, I'd say 'It's fine, clear writing,'" he said, admitting that emails he wrote scored lower than Palin's on the widely used Flesch-Kincaid readability test.

"She came in as a solid communicator," said Paul J.J. Payack, president of the Global Language Monitor. The emails registered as an 8.2 on his version of the test. "That's typical for a corporate executive."

An example of Palin's strongest writing came on Jul. 17, 2007 in an email to Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell about the controversial Gravina Island Bridge, infamously called the "Bridge to Nowhere."
"We cant afford it, the Feds won't pay for it, the general populace isn't placing it as a high priority … can you diplomatically express that?! Of course we want infrastructure -- and this is NOT a "bridge to nowhere" (that is so offensive), but as it stands today with the highest-cost bridge design selected by the Ketchikan community, we need to find a lower-cost alternative [if] a bridge will be built."
"She's very concise. She gives clear orders. Her sentences and punctuations are logical," Payack said. "She has much more of a disciplined mind than she's given credit for."

Although it's like comparing apples to oranges, Payack said that famous speeches like Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address was a 9.1 and Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" oration rated a 8.8 on the scale.

The Palin emails offer a rare opportunity to see the digital internal communication of a public official. One of the few comparable scenarios was the release of the relatively slim 928-page assortment of former FEMA chief Michael Brown's emails from the days around the Hurricane Katrina catastrophe.

Payack and Katzman restricted their analysis to 60 randomly chosen messages that were at least one paragraph long. They were just 60 among the avalanche of documents released in response to freedom of information requests lodged when Palin was the relatively unknown running mate of Sen. John McCain in the 2008 presidential campaign.

Incoming messages to Palin's gov.sarah@yahoo.com account made up the bulk of the correspondence between December 2006 and September 2008, while the majority of notes Palin penned were too brief to use in the grade-level tests, the analysts said.

Many messages were conjured on her Blackberry, where Palin shortened words in a manner familiar to people who conduct business with their thumbs on a minuscule keypad.

"I'll ck w/Nizich on letter and fwd your ideas," she wrote to Parnell in September 2008 about a conversation he had with Mike Nizich, a former chief of staff to Palin.

Her characteristic down-home manner as the self-proclaimed "Mama Grizzly" that has endeared her to her base and been the subject of ridicule by her opponents shined through in an email from Jan. 2, 2007, soon after she moved into the governor's mansion.

"I am a hunter. I grew up hunting - some of my best memories growing up are of hunting with my dad to help feel [sic] our freezer," she wrote to aides on a bear hunting issue under debate.

But this was a rare example where Palin's writing style matched with the public persona of the rugged frontierswoman that Americans recognize from her recurring appearances on television.

"Given her portrayal of herself as very much an Alaskan I had expected to find a lot of 'Alaskanisms' in her emails," said University of Alaska, Anchorage English Professor David Bowie. "But there were actually very few."

The one regionalism Bowie noticed that popped up was Palin's use of the word "outside" for things beyond Alaska's borders.

[Editor's Note: In the interest of fairness, the writer submitted his own work for scrutiny. His recent piece, on a New York man trying to row across the Atlantic Ocean is on the 8.8 grade level, Payack said.]

While 8th grade level maybe fine for some people, I expect better.  She was a journalism major in college so her writing and communicating skills should be at least the college level.  The Palinbots think 8th grade level is great.  Not surprising considering they can only read and write at the 2nd grade level.  Wasilla High and the University of Idaho should ask for their diplomas back.
