Louie Ghomert at it again

From Wonkette

Texas congressmollusk Louie Gohmert, that irrepressible imp, has been giving a lot of thought to Our Troops and how Barack Obama is trying to kill them all by making them fight the Ebolese Liberation Army.

On some strange Christian radio talk show this week, Gohmert was crying about the lack of full-body protective suits for military personnel building hospitals in Liberia, calling it “absolutely insane” that they wouldn’t be in full-body condoms eve though they’d be handling 2X4s, not sick patients. And yes, he managed to drag in just about every possible paranoid talking point, even predicting that soldiers would be abandoned to Ebola and “treated like the Benghazi folks were” because the Obama administration won’t give them adequate protection. Who ordered the troops to stand down against Ebola?

Then, somehow, after a caller’s question about Obama’s disdain for the military, Gohmert veered off into some musings about the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” maybe because he sees gay people as a deadly infection. And Louie Gohmert wants you to know that he thought long and hard about all those homos in the military and has concluded that history proves why it’s a bad idea:

I’ve had people say, “Hey, you know, there’s nothing wrong with gays in the military. Look at the Greeks.” Well, you know, they did have people come along who they loved that was the same sex and would give them massages before they went into battle. But you know what, it’s a different kind of fighting, it’s a different kind of war and if you’re sitting around getting massages all day ready to go into a big, planned battle, then you’re not going to last very long. It’s guerrilla fighting. You are going to be ultimately vulnerable to terrorism and if that’s what you start doing in the military like the Greeks did … as people have said, “Louie, you have got to understand, you don’t even know your history.’ Oh yes I do. I know exactly. It’s not a good idea.”

That’s some pretty S-M-R-T historical analysis there, Mr. Gohmert, and thank god you have that important contribution. War has indeed changed since the days of the ancient Greeks, and we should definitely not let all these gay soldiers get gay massages of their huge taut muscles by lithe servant boys all day. It’s just not a good idea! Also, damn that Obama and his outmoded insistence on bronze helmets and phalanx battle formations, too.

Sadly, the show moved on to the next caller before Gohmert could condemn Obama for not outfitting our war-galleys with more powerful, muscular slaves to man the oars. Also, Benghazi.

Unfortunately Louie will be re-elected because he is in the Big Sandy TX district.  Big Sandy is home to ATI, the cult that Bill Gorthard founded and the Duggars are part of.

Wisconsin State Senator Glenn Grothman has to go

From Mother Jones

Glenn Grothman, a Republican state senator who is on track to be the next congressman from Wisconsin's 6th district, has never been shy about speaking his mind. He's a bomb-thrower, a perpetual outrage machine for his liberal opponents, and a gift to the local and national press corps.
Grothman briefly stepped onto the national stage during the 2011 protests against Republican Gov. Scott Walker's effort to curb public workers' bargaining rights. He was one of the most outspoken critics of the anti-Walker protesters. On MSNBC, hederided those protesting the bill as "a bunch of slobs" and compared those who occupied the state Capitol to "college students and hangers-on having a party."
In August, Grothman surprised many, including some in his own party, by squeezing out the narrowest of victories in the GOP primary in his overwhelmingly Republican district, which includes Oshkosh and Fond du Lac. Referring to Grothman's previous remarks about women, one Republican operative tweeted, "Gee, so glad we nominated the guy w/ a reputation of being a misogynist in #WI06 w/ both our Gov and AG candidates down vs women."
Uncharacteristically, Grothman has gone silent since his primary victory. (His campaign did not respond to requests for comment.)
Here is a roundup of what might be called his greatest hits. Read them and remember that Grothman is likely headed to Congress.
Days off from work are "a little ridiculous": In January, Grothman proposedrolling back a Wisconsin law requiring employers to give workers at least one day of rest per week. He told the Huffington Post the existing state law was "a little goofy" and his proposal was about "freedom." "Right now in Wisconsin, you're not supposed to work seven days in a row, which is a little ridiculous because all sorts of people want to work seven days a week," he said.
Sex ed could turn kids gay: In 2010, Grothman, who believes that homosexuality is a choice, proposed banning Wisconsin public school teachers from mentioning homosexuality in sex education classes because some teachers had an "agenda" to turn kids gay.
Planned Parenthood is racist: In January 2013, Grothman appeared on Voice of Christian Youth America, an evangelical talk show, and he called Planned Parenthood "the most overtly racist organization." He said that Planned Parenthood has a pattern of "not liking people who are not white" and specifically targets Asian Americans for sex-selective abortions. (Planned Parenthood opposes sex-selective abortions.)
"Money is more important for men": After voting in 2011 to repeal Wisconsin's equal-pay protection law, Grothman argued that the male-female pay gap wasn't about discrimination in the workplace. "Take a hypothetical husband and wife who are both lawyers," he told the Daily Beast. "But the husband is working 50 or 60 hours a week, going all out, making 200 grand a year. The woman takes time off, raises kids, is not go go go. Now they're 50 years old. The husband is making 200 grand a year, the woman is making 40 grand a year. It wasn't discrimination. There was a different sense of urgency in each person." He added, "You could argue that money is more important for men. I think a guy in their first job, maybe because they expect to be a breadwinner someday, may be a little more money-conscious." (At a 2010 tea party rally, Grothman said, "In the long run, a lot of women like to stay at home and have their husbands be the primary breadwinner.")
People on food stamps don't act poor enough: In a 2004 op-ed calling for new restrictions on the federal food stamps program, Grothman outlined the extensive research that informed his position. "I've interviewed over a dozen people who check out people who pay with food stamps," he wrote, "and all felt people on food stamps ate better—or at least more costly—than they did." He also wrote: "Observations of people who work in food stores indicate that many people who use food stamps do not act as if they are genuinely poor."

God is probably mad at John Kerry: In April, Grothman appeared again on Voice of Christian Youth America, and he discussed Secretary of State Kerry's efforts to lobby against Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni's bill to punish gays and lesbians. "Now, usually I associate the United States with being a positive influence on Africa," Grothman said. "You associate the United States with sending missionaries to Africa…Instead, what we have is the secretary of state going to Africa and educating Ugandans or saying he is going to send American scientists to Uganda to explain how normal homosexuality is. Think about that. What must God think of our country?"
The Kwanzaa conspiracy: A December 2012 press release issued by Grothman's state senate office asked, "Why Must We Still Hear About Kwanzaa?" In it, Grothman claimed that Kwanzaa is a phony holiday promoted by "white left-wingers who try to shove this down black people's throats in an effort to divide Americans." He urged "mainstream Americans" to be "more outspoken on this issue. It's time it's slapped down once and for all."
Affirmative action is "offensive": Following the US Supreme Court's 2014 ruling in Schuette v. Coalition to Defend Affirmative Action, which upheld a ban on racial preferences in college admissions, Grothman said he would re-up a previous bill outlawing all race- and gender-based affirmative action programs in Wisconsin. "There's no question that affirmative action is an idea whose time has come and gone," he told Wisconsin Public Radio. "It's offensive and it's very anti-business."
If he could turn back time: Grothman told an interviewer in 2010, "Did people even know what homosexuality was in high school in 1975? I don't remember any discussion about that at the time. There were a few guys who would make fun of a few effeminate boys, but that's a different thing than homosexuality. Homosexuality was not on anyone's radar. And that's a good thing." But Grothman doesn't just miss the '70s; he's also said he wants to turn the clock back to the 1950s.

All I can say is fuck you Glenn!

Another one of Fred's Phelps grandkids leaves WBC

Another Westboro Baptist Church member has left the hate church -- Zach Phelps-Roper, age 23. The grandson of Fred Phelps is the fourth Phelps-Roper sibling to reject WBC's tactics of hate preaching and picketing, according to an interview he gave to the Topeka Capital-Journal.
"I believe that empathy and unconditional love are what is absolutely necessary for us to free ourselves and each other from mind traps and from the many problems that are plaguing our society," he said.
The WBC is well known for its virulently anti-gay stance and characteristic "God Hates Fags" signs. Phelps-Roper no longer holds these views, and said that he's received love and support from the gay community since he left the church on on February 20, 2014. He told the Capital-Journal that gay people have offered to buy him meals and drinks and empathized with his struggles.
Phelps-Roper joins at least twenty ex-WBC family members whom he was previously banned from speaking with, including his brother Josh and his sisters Megan and Grace.
Nonetheless, he doesn't blame WBC members for their hateful activities, because he thinks that they are stuck in the powerful "mind trap" of believing that the Bible is absolutely infallible, and fearing the eternal wrath of a judgmental God. In a comment he posted for clarification on the Capital-Journal's story, he wrote, "They are very afraid of that, so they cannot think clearly about the impact that they are having on others, and therefore, they seem to lack empathy."
"I would like to show them a different way of approaching people: indefinitely plenteous and unconditional empathy," he added.
Phelps-Roper's defection occurred a month before his grandfather, WBC founder Fred Phelps, passed away at the age of 84. Phelps-Roper said that other church members convinced him that Phelps had become "manipulative and abusive," and stopped him from visiting Phelps on his deathbed, a decision he regrets.
Siblings Megan and Grace havepreviously echoed these sentiments, reconciling their decision to step away from a hate church with the pain of being shunned by their family members. Their mother, Shirley Phelps-Roper, used to be the church's primary spokeswoman and remains very active in the WBC.
Zach Phelps-Roper told the Capital-Journal that the had tried to leave WBC five times previously, but had been convinced by family members to stay each time.
His decision to leave the church has been affirmed by the positive changes in his life. “If I have greater peace now than in the church, how can I be a wicked person?” he said, referencing the Bible verse "There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked" (Isaiah 48:22).
He's been helped by fellow ex-member Lauren Drain's fund for WBC escapees, which provides financial support for ex-members to start a new life.
Zach Phelps-Roper told the Capital-Journal that when he first left the church, he accepted that his decision meant that he would eventually die and go to hell. Almost three months, later, he's content and filled with gratitude, posting on Facebook, "The days are too good to me. I am happier today than I ever was before. I can giggle at myself in the mirror, having let go of so much emotional pain that burdened me before."
Good luck and Godspeed to you Zach!  Never lose your faith in Jesus and know that Jesus loved everyone-straights, gays, Republicans, Democrats, tax cheats, fornicators, liars, etc.

Desperately seeking Sarah seeking attention

Now that Sarah's career as a FOX pundit is over, she is desperate to get back in the news.

The first picture you can tell she is wearing the twins.  When you lose weight like she has your bra size goes down.  In her case she should be wearing a training bra!

The 2nd picture she looks totally stoned.  Either that or she is fantasizing about some black cock sticking her or sucking on it.

Fred Phelps protege running for state school board in Kansas

 From Gawker

Get to know Jack Wu, a God-fearing Christian man running for a seat on the Kansas Board of Education.

Here are a few key points: Wu thinks evolution is a "satanic lie," he believes most of us are going to hell, and he's an active member of the Westboro Baptist Church, those assholes with the "God Hates Fags" signs.

He also loves reality TV.

In other words, Wu is a complete nightmare, but he doesn't care what you think of him.

The truth matters more than the opinion of other men and women. The Bible says if you're hated by other people for taking a stance that's not popular, it's like a sign you're chosen by God, almost.

Unfortunately for Wu, God doesn't vote. And Wu is going to need a lot of help: so far, his campaign contributions total five dollars.

Nevertheless, Wu's opponent Carolyn Campbell is taking him seriously. It's a critical time for Kansas, as the state seeks to adopt new standards that would teach evolution and leave out creationism entirely. Wu is obviously against these changes — but then, he believes public education is already "preparing its students to be liars, crooks, thieves, murderers, and perverts."

Here are Wu's campaign goals, as outlined on his (amazingly bad) website:

Evolution should never be taught in public schools as science. Evolution is false science! God made the heaven and the earth and created humans from the dust of the earth! The very bad teachers that teach that men descended from apes via evolution need to have their teaching licenses revoked. Yes, students should be taught that God created everything.
School administrators are always complaining about budget problems and lack of funding for this or that. Haha, that's funny. I have a really simple solution to solve that problem: Eliminate funding for evolution textbooks and pseudo-education. We'll save a ton of money! Tell those evolution textbook publishers to recycle their waste of paper, and tell those evolution teachers to teach truths instead of lies.

Why isn't anyone else talking about these incredible money-saving techniques? Let's not rule them out just because they're insane.

Wu has at least one semi-endorsement from WBC spokesman Jonathan Phelps, who said, "I think he's a nice guy."

When someone who protests military funerals calls you "nice," it's probably time to do some serious self-reflection.

I think it's safe to say this guy isn't going to get elected dog catcher, let alone school board member.  But then again this is Kansas.

I checked out his website and all I can say is Oh. My. God.  Maybe he can get Sarah Palin, the Bachmanns, and Paul Ryan to endorse him.

Here is his bio:

Jack Wu grew up in Hayward, California. He attended a public elementary school there and was introduced to the theory of evolution at that school. Jack fell victim to the lies of his evil teachers and thought evolution was real science for a time.

After elementary school, Jack attended a private "Christian" school. There, Jack was taught that God created the world and the universe. At first, Jack stuck with his old pseudo-science evolution-based cosmology. However, the light of the holy scriptures burned all those trashy concepts away. Jack now knows that God is the Creator of all things.

Jack moved to Topeka, Kansas after seeing the light of Westboro Baptist Church. There, he found people that loved and served the Lord their God sincerely. The church stands amidst the evil city of Topeka, whose citizens among other things tried to burn down the church.

Reason #81 not to vote for Sarah Palin for anything

She endorsed Scott Brown for Senate.

Scott ran for the late Ted Kennedy's senate seat in Massachusetts. Sarah's endorsement of him won the election. However Scott is a Teabagger favorite.

Scott votes with the Republicans 95% of the time.

Scott also hates women

He also refused to participate in the "It Gets Better" Campaign which is designed to fight bullying, especially bullying against gay teens. Every single member of the MA Congressional Delegation participated.

He also preaches family values yet he posed nude:

Why Michele Bachmann would make a crappy president

Good Lord where do I begin?

She rails against government spending but took farm subsidies and her husband Marcus took Medicare and Medicaid payments for his clinic.

Michele has a history of making incorrect statements.

She is very anti gay and is so anti gay I have to wonder if she is a secret lesbian.

She suffers from migraines which could hinder her ability to make critical decisions.

Michele has alleged two lesbians tried to abduct her. I'm sure those lesbians have better taste. Major paranoia there Shelly!
