Sarah Palin and Joni Ernst are two peas in a pod

From Politico

Iowa GOP Senate candidate Joni Ernst has been hammering Democrat Bruce Braley for missing votes and committee hearings on Capitol Hill while he was out campaigning.

Yet Ernst missed nearly 40 percent of the votes in the Iowa state Senate during 2014, as well as large number of committee meetings for the panels she serves on, state records show.

Ernst has also attended only a fraction of the meetings of the Iowa boards and commissions she has been appointed to since taking office in 2010.
And from Salon:

A construction company owned by GOP Iowa Senate candidate Joni Ernst’s father received more than $200,000 in county contracts while she served as auditor of Montgomery County, Iowa, despite a strict conflict of interest code governing the provision of contracts to family members of county officials.
A new review of records — as well as an analysis of the Code of Iowa — by Salon reveals that the nature of the contracts and how they were promulgated, may have violated relevant county standards.
Ernst is facing Democratic congressman Bruce Braley in a neck-and-neck race to succeed retiring Democratic Sen. Tom Harkin. Polls show it as too close to call (with several polls finding Ernst with a small lead). Given the volatility of several Senate races this cycle, this particular campaign could potentially help decide which party controls the Senate.
Ernst was elected Montgomery County auditor in 2004, serving in that role until her 2011 election to the state Senate seat she currently holds. Among the duties a county auditor “may perform,” according to the Iowa State Association of County Auditors, are issuing contract bid notices and soliciting and receiving contract proposals. Minutes from an April 2007 Montgomery County Supervisors meeting – printed in the Red Oak Express – note Ernst’s involvement in county contracts, stating that Ernst would “work [the] issue” of advertising bids for a roofing project in the county.

The Iowa Code lays out stringent conflict of interest standards for county contracts. Chapter 331 of the code stipulates that “[a]n officer or employee of a county shall not have an interest, direct, or indirect, in a contract with that county.” The provision applies if 5 percent of a company’s outstanding stock is owned by either a county employee or an immediate family member – including a parent – of an employee.

Skipping out on her duties?

Crony Capitalism?

Who does that remind you of?

The Sarah Palin "hey look at me tour" concludes in the Hawkeye state today

And Sarah still doesn't have top billing!

So far her tour has been a disaster.

The lady with her in the above picture did her wig in Nebraska, and it looks like shit.

Here she and BFF Carnvial Cruise are with their token endorsee, Sarah looks very unhappy.

Poor Iowa, Sarah is going to be there today

From Des Moines Register blog

While the rest of the political world is focused on what Republican Chris Christie’s triumphant 21-point win in the governor’s race in Democratic-tilted New Jersey means for the best GOP model for the 2016 race – is Christie’s establishment-style model the best recipe for Republicans, rather than Cruz-style uncompromising tea party conservatism? – everyone but Christie is trekking to Iowa. Alaska’s Sarah Palin, Utah’s Mike Lee, Wisconsin’s Paul Ryan and Wisconsin’s Scott Brown are up next. Cruz and Kentucky’s Rand Paul already have a headstart with early visits.

Sarah don't wear the hooker outfits.  Iowans are socially conservative and will be turned off by that.

Your not even going to run, Hillary will probably be the next president so don't waste your time.

Ann Romney channels her inner Sarah Palin

From Politico News Sept. 20, 2012 Ann Romney is showing her dark side when asked in on a radio show in Iowa and has a message for the Republican Party: “Just Stop It!!” t is quite a switch from her speech at the Republican National Convention where she appeared to our softer side, and said she was speaking from the heart. On that night, she tried to give the nation a picture of her husband as Mr. Fix it, and if anyone can fix this economy “Mitt can do it and he will not fail”. The sales pitch didn’t work very well, and critics said her speech didn’t make the sale.

Tonight, both Mitt Romney and Ann Romney are in Iowa, trying to appeal to the left over voters who haven’t already made up their minds. Within the last week, Romney’s campaign hit the rocks and sank with the release of a video tape of a private fundraiser that occurred in Boca Raton, Florida at the home of a very wealthy hedge fund manager, Marc Leder.

Ann Romney told her fellow Republicans to “Just stop it” and how lucky the party should feel that Mitt Romney is their nominee.

Peggy Noonan a long time speech writer and a woman who has been in Republican races since Reagan wrote that “it is time for an intervention” in the Romney campaign. B

illy Kristol another conservative and editor of the Weekly Standard wrote that Romney’s comments at the fundraiser were “arrogant and stupid”.

The knives have surely come out against Mitt Romney because his campaign is crashing in a downward spiral. But Ann Romney topped it off with a stern warning to the GOP and some pretty cutting remarks to conservatives:

“Stop it. This is hard. You want to try it? Get in the ring” in a very tense, and terse tone she admonishes those who dare criticize her husband.

“This is hard and, you know, it’s an important thing that we’re doing right now and it’s an important election and it is time for all Americans to realize how significant this election is and how lucky we are to have someone with Mitt’s qualifications and experience and know-how to be able to have the opportunity to run this country.”

How lucky we are to have Mitt Romney. “It’s nonsense and the chattering class…you hear it and then you just let it go right by,” she told Radio Iowa. “…Honestly, at this point, I’m not surprised by anything.”

The chattering class? Is that like the people who’s votes you are trying to get? Now we are in a chattering class? Exactly, how low on the class rating system is the chattering class. When we get a copy of the audio we’ll post it here, unfortunately it is not yet available.

What is it with the 2012 Rich Republican FLOTUS wanabees? Ann is a bitch. Callista Gingrich is a bitch. Anita Perry is a bitch. Marcus Bachmann is a bitch. ANNtoniette makes Barbara Bush look human. And that is no easy task. Laura Bush never acted like this. Neither did Nancy Reagan and Cindy McCain. And on the Democrats side Hillary Clinton, Tipper Gore, Teresa Kerry, and Michelle Obama were much more likeable.

Palinbots can't let go

From KCRG News

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A group called The Earthquake Movement is responsible for a series of Cedar Rapids billboard ads supporting Sarah Palin for the Republican presidential nomination.

An electronic billboard near The Ar-Jay Center on Council Street NE has recently been displaying a series of four advertisements involving Sarah Palin. None of the ads actually contain Palin's image, but include messages like, "Nominate Sarah Palin for President," and "Sudden and Relentless Reform - Delegates are Unbound," as well as "Palin 2012" and "Sarah Palin Supporters Unite."

According to an email from a representative of The Earthquake Movement, the group has sent informational packets to delegates around the country, asking them to be one of the five required majority state delegations needed to nominate Palin in the first round of voting at the Republican National Convention. The packets also ask for delegates to nominate Palin in the second round if presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney does not receive the required number of delegates in the first round.

The Earthquake Movement has also distributed information on Palin's "record, accomplishments and why we think she is the person who can excite the base and defeat President Obama in November."

"We are finding a lot of unhappy Republican voters," the email said. "They feel like the RNC is not listening to them and based on voter turn out in the primaries and what we are hearing from Conservative Americans, they want her to emerge from the convention as the nominee. They are also very angry that she was not given a prime time speaking spot at the convention and are wondering if the RNC is attempting to shut her out because her message resonates with so many of us fly-overs. Are they afraid if she speaks prior to the vote or at all, we will have an averted Reagan experience?"

This is beyond pathetic.

Sarah is not running in 2012, and she will not be running in 2016. Get over it.

Iowa's caucus is today and the reasons why I despise the current GOP candidates

Iowa is holding the first caucus of the 2012 Presidential Election. Today they will caucus who will be their choice for the GOP Presidential Candidate. There is no

Newt Gingrich:

Newt is the one I despise the most. I dislike him for the way he went after President Clinton regarding his affairs. Newt was the reason I became a Democrat.

Rick Perry:

I despise Rick because he is a Bush alum, was Lt.Gov during Dumbya's rein as TX Gov. Rick also cut the Firefighters budget then expected God to bring rain. Earth to Rick, God's answer to your prayer was the money you cut!

Mitt Romney:

Mitt is arrogant. He abuses dogs, commits voter fraud, and said it was beneath his sons to serve their country. He also had the worst job creation record while Gov of Massachusetts.

Michele Bachmann:

Shelly puts Minnesota to shame. I think she has no mind of her own. What really frightens me is that if she were elected, she will be taking orders from her hubby Marcus the homophobe.

Rick Santorum

Rick was endorsed by the Duggar family. No explanation needed. He also hates gays and thinks we should bomb Iran.

Ron Paul

I have to confess I actually liked Ron four years ago. But no longer. I lost all respect for him when he said he supported Rand's comment that he would have voted against the 1964 Civil Rights act. He also thinks sexual harassment should be legal and FEMA outlawed.

John Hunstman

I was actually OK with John Hunstman until he said we should start war with Iran.

Recap of Sarah's weekend in Iowa

This meeting was sponsored by Organize 4 Palin. Sarah won't even get up and speak. Guess she wasn't goihttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifng to get paid for it. Pretty rude when Texas 4 Palin showed up.

Why is she sweating like a pig? And she looks sick and nervous. Todd too.

I see Bristol is there. Who is watching Tripp? And no Piper? Maybe she really is enrolled in school after all.

Speech err I mean Screech day

Same old bullshit. Attack Obama. She even threw John McCain under the bus when she criticized Republicans who criticized the Tea Party.

And check out these pictures of her running. It was photoshopped by non other than Greta Van Susteren. Does Greta really think people are that stupid? Oh never mind

If Sarah ran a half marathon she would be a lot sweatier than that. I ran cross country and track in high school and my shirt would be soaked after a seven to nine mile run. I was not very fast either.

Also it was reported she finished the half marathon in 1:45. Pace would be about 8:00. A woman her age with little to no training would not keep up with that fast a pace. Heck I ran the Bix 7 as part of my training and my pace was a little over 10-11 minutes but I had to run with over 15,000 participants and it took about 3 minutes just to get to the starting line when the race started I was so far back.

As the Tea Party turns

First Sarah has a fit that Christine O'Donnell is going to speak at the Tea Party rally in Indianola IA on Sat, so Christine is removed from the program. Sarah then decides to bail out, Christine is let back in, then back off again. Sarah may actually speak after all.

If the Tea Party is this unorganized then they should not be allowed in any elected positions. Or is Sarah playing games again? Either explanation is plausible. Anyway Sept. 3 is going to be a riot!

Sarah Palin review while I was gone

Sarah shows up at the Iowa Straw Poll and flicks her tongue

Todd gets into it with a fellow Alaskan

Sarah goes on Greta and shoves her foot in her mouth as usual:

And she does the same thing with Megyn Kelly:

And Lou Dobbs:

Sarah really needs to clean herself up Stringy hair, trashy clothes and the tongue flicking thing. She needs an intervention

Sarah is left out of the Iowa Straw Poll...too bad!

From CNN

(CNN)-Former governors Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman announced they wouldn’t compete at the Ames straw poll in Iowa, but the state GOP added them to the ballot anyway, along with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

But former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Texas Gov. Rick Perry – who haven’t yet decided on a presidential bid – were left off.

The Iowa GOP state central committee named nine candidates to the final straw poll ballot announced Saturday.

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, businessman Herman Cain, Texas Rep. Ron Paul, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, and then-unannounced Michigan Rep. Thaddeus McCotter secured a spot on the ballot in June by reserving space at the straw poll. Each paid a minimum of $15,000 to rent space outside the arena where the August 13 straw poll will take place.

The Ames straw poll is an early test of candidate strength in the first-in-the-nation caucus state, with the ability to elevate, solidify, or break a candidate’s rank in the GOP field. It is also considered an indicator of who may win the first significant presidential contest.

Critical members of Gingrich’s Iowa campaign resigned shortly before the bidding process for straw poll lots, hampering an already financially-strapped effort to win big in Iowa. Gingrich did not reserve space with other candidates in June.

Huntsman announced he would not compete in Iowa, choosing to focus instead on the first-in-the-nation primary state of New Hampshire

Romney, who also sought the GOP nomination in 2008, also stated he'd sit out the straw poll in Ames. Though he won the contest in 2007, Romney fell short of winning the Iowa caucus, which went to former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Romney’s straw poll runner-up.

Palin stated she would announce her intention to run–or stay out of the race–in late August or early September. Perry said Friday that he'll make his decision known in the next three to four weeks.

Americans for Rick Perry, an independent group supporting the Texas governor, told CNN that its efforts to get Perry onto the Ames ballot failed. The group's leader,Bob Schuman, told CNN,"The other candidates sure seem to fear Gov. Perry."

Palin and Perry may have been left off the ballot, but straw poll voters will be able to write in their pick for president.

The addition of Romney, Huntsman, and Gingrich to the straw poll ballot is no special practice. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson and Arizona Sen. John McCain all chose to skip the contest in 2007, but were added to the ballot.

And though he placed 10th, McCain went on to win the 2008 GOP nomination for president, proving that results of the straw poll may not necessarily predict who ends up on top.

Not gonna be much of a straw poll. Romney and Hunstman are too chicken to participate. And the rest suck. Tickles me to see Perry and Palin left off, even though they haven't declared. Good job Hawkeyes!

Sarah will be premiering her "movie" in Iowa next month

From Joe McGinniss's blog

Scott Conroy, co-author of the 2009 quasi-bio Sarah from Alaska:  The Sudden Rise and Brutal Education of a New Conservative Superstar, announces on RealClearPolitics that a film described as “Sarah’s Secret Weapon” will premiere in Iowa in June.

The film has been financed and produced by Stephen K. Bannon, an ex-Goldman Sachs investment banker previously known for In The Face of Evil: Reagan’s War in Word and Deed, and such other right-wing red meat feasts as Fire from The Heartland and Generation Zero.

Bannon clearly has money and anger to burn, and he’s now all-in with Sarah.

I think this will be a flop.  The American public has known Sarah for almost three years, enough to firmly make an opinion of her.  Either they love her or hate here.  An infomercial will not change anything.  That million dollars could have been spent better.
