Sarah Palin and Joni Ernst are two peas in a pod

From Politico

Iowa GOP Senate candidate Joni Ernst has been hammering Democrat Bruce Braley for missing votes and committee hearings on Capitol Hill while he was out campaigning.

Yet Ernst missed nearly 40 percent of the votes in the Iowa state Senate during 2014, as well as large number of committee meetings for the panels she serves on, state records show.

Ernst has also attended only a fraction of the meetings of the Iowa boards and commissions she has been appointed to since taking office in 2010.
And from Salon:

A construction company owned by GOP Iowa Senate candidate Joni Ernst’s father received more than $200,000 in county contracts while she served as auditor of Montgomery County, Iowa, despite a strict conflict of interest code governing the provision of contracts to family members of county officials.
A new review of records — as well as an analysis of the Code of Iowa — by Salon reveals that the nature of the contracts and how they were promulgated, may have violated relevant county standards.
Ernst is facing Democratic congressman Bruce Braley in a neck-and-neck race to succeed retiring Democratic Sen. Tom Harkin. Polls show it as too close to call (with several polls finding Ernst with a small lead). Given the volatility of several Senate races this cycle, this particular campaign could potentially help decide which party controls the Senate.
Ernst was elected Montgomery County auditor in 2004, serving in that role until her 2011 election to the state Senate seat she currently holds. Among the duties a county auditor “may perform,” according to the Iowa State Association of County Auditors, are issuing contract bid notices and soliciting and receiving contract proposals. Minutes from an April 2007 Montgomery County Supervisors meeting – printed in the Red Oak Express – note Ernst’s involvement in county contracts, stating that Ernst would “work [the] issue” of advertising bids for a roofing project in the county.

The Iowa Code lays out stringent conflict of interest standards for county contracts. Chapter 331 of the code stipulates that “[a]n officer or employee of a county shall not have an interest, direct, or indirect, in a contract with that county.” The provision applies if 5 percent of a company’s outstanding stock is owned by either a county employee or an immediate family member – including a parent – of an employee.

Skipping out on her duties?

Crony Capitalism?

Who does that remind you of?

The Palin curse lives on

From the Immoral Minority

Courtesy of Reuters:

The U.S. government banned BP Plc on Wednesday from new federal contracts over its "lack of business integrity" in the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill, possibly imperiling the company's role as a top U.S. offshore oil and gas producer and the No. 1 military fuel supplier.

The suspension, announced by the Environmental Protection Agency, comes on the heels of BP's November 15 agreement with the U.S. government to plead guilty to criminal misconduct in the Gulf of Mexico disaster, the worst offshore oil spill in U.S. history. The British energy giant agreed to pay $4.5 billion in penalties, including a record $1.256 billion criminal fine.

This very good news, though considering the devastation caused by the negligence of this company there will NEVER really be an appropriate cost which can be levied against them in my opinion.

However I have to say that being forced to pay 4.5 billion in penalties, which is the most EVER paid out by any company in US history, along with having the opportunity to bid on new contracts stripped away, MIGHT cause enough pain to the company to make them put safety concerns front and center from this point forward.

By the way I am not sure if any of you are aware, but the first time there were any allegations that BP cheated while testing those blowout preventers, you know the ones that failed and caused the giant oil spill in the Gulf, was up here in Alaska, was actually from tests performed on the North Slope to be exact.

And do you know who was the manager in charge of testing those blowout preventers on the North Slope at that time?

 You guessed it.

Just ANOTHER example of the Palin curse at work I suppose.

Jesse you hit the nail right on the head.  The Palin curse lives on.

The Palin curse strikes Jeremy Lin

The New York Knicks decided not to keep Jeremy Lin so he was shipped off to the Houston Rockets.

Back in February when Linsanity was going on Sarah had to open her piehole and declare her love for Jeremy.  I thought she didn't like Asians.

Since then Jeremy's production went down, the Knicks decided to dump him and now he is a Rocket.

Way to go Sarah.  Once again you prove everything you touch turns to shit.

Newt Gingrich is suspending his campaign tomorrow

The Palin curse has struck again.

Newt Gingrich is suspending his campaign tomorrow.  Smart move considering he is raking in little dough and hasn't won a primary/caucus since South Carolina.  This would not have been a problem if Todd had not endorsed him and Sarah had not voted for him in Alaska.  Everything Sarah touches turns to shit.

Looks like Mitt will be the nominee.

Report: Tim Tebow to be traded-Update

From NBC Sports

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Broncos will try to trade Tim Tebow following the official signing of free agent Peyton Manning.

Signing Manning was the Broncos' only foolproof way to crush Tebowmania, and there's an almost zero percent chance he will be allowed to remain on the roster and serve as a distraction behind the biggest free agent signing in NFL history. The Jaguars and Dolphins figure to be Tebow's most frequently rumored landing spots, though it's quite possible he won't be shipped anywhere as a starter. Coach John Fox and VP of Football Operations John Elway will soon be free of a player they could barely hide their contempt for.

Everything Sarah touches turns to shit. Tim Tebow who she fawned all over is now done as a Denver Bronco. Also Jeremy Lin's future as a New York Knick is in doubt too.

Professional athletes be aware!

Update-Tim has been traded to the NY Jets

From ESPN.com

Unusually quiet in recent weeks, the New York Jets shattered the calm Wednesday by completing a trade for polarizing quarterback Tim Tebow.

The Jets sent two picks -- a fourth-rounder and sixth-rounder in 2012 -- to the Denver Broncos in exchange for a seventh-round selection

Jeremy Lin is Sarah's latest victim

From NBC Sports

Not the way Jeremy Lin handled the ball Friday night, and he put the blame for the loss that halted Linsanity squarely on himself.

Lin committed nine turnovers, tied for the most in the NBA this season, and New York's seven-game winning streak was stopped 89-85 by the New Orleans Hornets.

Lin scored 26 points, but his turnovers nearly doubled his five assists and the Knicks lost for the first time with Lin as a starter, falling back below .500 at 15-16 heading into a matchup with the defending NBA champion Dallas Mavericks on Sunday.

"Just a lackluster effort on my part coming out and careless with the ball, and so nine turnovers is obviously never going to get it done from your primary ballhandler," Lin said. "It's on me in terms of taking care of the ball and also the game in general.

"I think everyone wants to credit me for this last seven games, then I definitely deserve this one on my shoulders and so that's fine with me.

Earlier this week Sarah endorsed Jeremy:

Sarah knock it off! Every good thing you touch turns to shit. Tim Tebow now Jeremy Lin. Stick with touching shitty things like Joe Miller, Christine O'Donnell, and Karen Handel OK you bitch?

Tim Tebow's season is over

From ESPN

Ever since Sarah declared her love for Tim, he has gone 1-4 as a starter.

Hopefully Tim can wash the curse of during the offseason. I really do like the guy. He acts more Christian than Sarah ever will, visiting sick kids in the hospital and setting up a charitable foundation.

Kind of disappointing yesterday. The Saints lost to the 49er's. I hate the 49'ers.

Tim Tebow finally exorcises the Sarah curse on him

Congrats to Tim and the Denver Broncos on their upset win over the Steelers yesterday. My brother was pretty bummed.

Interesting tidbit-he threw for 316 yards. 3:16 is the cornerstone verse for Christianity. John 3:16 New Testament. Anyone who believes in me will not perish but have eternal life.

Unfortunately for Tim the Patriots are going to beat his ass.

The Sarah curse continues for the third week in a row

From ESPN

The Broncos did win the NFC West despite the loss. Which is better than what the Vikings did.
