Sarah Palin is scaping the bottom of the barrel again

From WAFF

NEW HOPE, AL (WAFF) -
Former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin is headed to the Tennessee Valley.
Madison County Schools announced Palin will be the keynote speaker at the New Hope High School commencement ceremony.  The graduation will be May 21 at 8 p.m. at the VBC.

"What an honor for the students of New Hope High to hear such a prominent speaker as Mrs. Palin," said Madison County Schools Superintendent Dr. David Copeland.

The feeling from several residents is that Palin is the perfect choice to inspire students, that she comes from a small town with a humble background and worked her way up to become governor of Alaska, then on to the 2008 Republican ticket.

At Dot's Dairy Den, a few blocks from the high school, folks there have students who attend New Hope High, and some don't, but all think it's a great opportunity for the kids.

"I think it's great, her coming to talk to the kids, and I think it's going to inspire them a lot as far as going to school and giving them the opportunity to move on," said Michael Lee Gwathney, father of a New Hope student.

"I think she's a perfect role model," said resident Ashley Nelson. "She's done everything on her own. She's made her own life, and I think she's someone good to look up to."

As of now all tickets are sold out.

No offense to Alabamans here but Dr. Copeland, Mr. Gwathney, and Ashley Nelson make the rest of the state look stupid with their comments.  Obviously they are rednecks who probably dress in the Confederate flag.

Back to Sarah when was the last time she did a major non political speech (CPAC doesn't count).  She just isn't a draw anymore.

Justin Bieber is a real role model...he got his high school diploma! Unlike Bristol

From Wonderwall

Despite his busy appearance and recording schedule, Justin Bieber managed to earn his high school diploma at the urging of his mother, he reveals.

"I just finished high school," the teen heartthrob told Britain's The Daily Telegraph. "I passed my test -- I'm free! It was hard doing school and work every day."

Bieber, 18, said he was driven to complete his education because it was very important to his mother. "That was something my mom really wanted me to do, so I had to do it for her," he tells the newspaper. "I mean, this kind of lifestyle has given me a different perspective on life. I've been able to travel the world. At school, usually you have to do a lot of writing and reading. I'm really not into that stuff. I like to be out there."

The teen sensation released his latest single, "Boyfriend," in March and his album "Believe," featuring Kanye West and Drake, is due out in June. "Yeah, what's so important about this album is showing I'm growing up but I'm also not losing my fans," he tells the Telegraph. "My fans are growing with me, and that's why I think it's very special."

Congrats to Justin.  It's nice to see he has his priorities in order.  He knows education is important even though he has enough money to last him a lifetime.  Too bad other famous young people do not have that ambition, like this one:
