Today Jerry Sandusky will get justice handed to him.  Most people predict he will get life in prison without any chance of parole, as should be.

Last night Jerry released a statement proclaiming his innocence:  My comments are in black

 I'm responding to the worst loss of my life.  your loss is nothing compared to the innocence your victims lost asshole

First, I looked at myself. Over and over, I asked why? Why didn't we have a fair opportunity to prepare for trial?  You had a fair opportunity, you chose not to put yourself on the witness stand and did that killing interview with Bob Costas

Why have so many people suffered as a result of false allegations? What's the purpose? Maybe it will help others. some vulnerable children who could be abused might not be because of all the publicity. That would be nice, but I'm not sure about it. I would cherish the opportunity to become a candle for others, as they have been a light for me.  Yes people have suffered, like your victims, your family, and the Penn State community when you keep lying.

They can take away my life, they can make me out as a monster, they can treat me as a monster, but they can't take away my heart. In my heart, I know I did not do these alleged disgusting acts.  (You think you know in your heart, but you are too fucked up to realize what you did was wrong)

My wife has been my only sex partner, and that was after marriage. Our love continues. You mean the only sex partner you have had that was a female adult.  I doubt your marriage was consummated anyway.

A young man who was dramatic, a veteran accuser and always sought attention, started everything. He was joined by a well-orchestrated effort of the media, investigators, the system, Penn State, psychologists, civil attorneys and other accusers. They won.  This young man went through hell at his school and his community, your hell is a piece of cake

I've wondered what they really won: attention, financial gain, prestige — will all be temporary.
Before you blame me, as others have, look at everything and everybody. Look at the preparation for the trial and the trial. Compare it to others. Think about what happened. Why, and who made it happen?  You made it happen when you started your terror back in 1994, maybe even before that

Evaluate the accusers and their families. Realize they didn't come out of isolation. The accusers were products of many more people and experiences than me. Look at their confidants and their honesty. Think about how easy it was for them to turn on me given the information, attention and potential perks. I never labeled or put down them or their families. I tried and I cared, then asked for the same.  When there are over a dozen victims, kind of hard to believe you.

Please realize all came to the Second Mile because of issues. Some of those may remain.
We will continue to fight. We didn't lose the proven facts, evidence, accurate locations and times. Anything can be said. We lost to speculation and stories that were influenced by people who wanted to convict me.
We must fight unfairness and consistency and dishonesty. People need to be portrayed for who they really are.  YOU ruined those kids.

We've not been complainers. When we couldn't have kids, we adopted. When we didn't have time to prepare for a trial, we still gave it our best. We will fight for another chance.  And you molested at least one of those kids you adopted you sick fuck

We have given many second chances, and now we'll ask for one. It will take more than our effort. Justice will have to be more than just a word, fairness more than just a dream. It will take others: somebody apolitical with the courage to listen, to think about the unfairness, to have the guts to stand up and take the road less traveled.  You had your one chance.  In court.

I ask for the strength to handle everything and willingness to surrender only to God, regardless of the outcome.  You better hope God shows you some leniency cuz Bubba won't.

As soon as the sentence is announced I will update this post.

Update-Sandusky gets 30-60 years in prison.  WTF?  Even though it is a life sentence for him they should have given him 400 years.

Catholics always stick together

While I was in the Black Hills I visited Crazy Horse Memorial. In the museum they have a corner where a lot of sports memorabilia is displayed as Ruth the widow of Korczak Ziolkowski the founder of the project is a sports fan. In the trophy case they have this displayed:

Now I know Ruth had no idea that Joe Paterno helped cover for Jerry Sandusky until the story broke into the national media but I think she should remove the ball from the trophy case and throw it away. I even wrote a note in the guest book stating so including my name and address.

Joe and Ruth have something in common. They are both Catholics. Guess Catholics really do stick together.

It is insulting to have Joe Paterno's autograph on display here as he covered for a pedophile and sexual abuse and assault is rampant amongst Native Americans, a group they are supposed to be honoring.

Also Crazy Horse was a man of honor and integrity and we all know Joe is anything but that.

A new criminal probe into Penn State pedophile Jerry Sandusky is looking into the possibility that the sick sex fiend abused a child along with a prominent athletic booster for the school, according to a new report.

RadarOnline.com said last night that the US Postal Service and the FBI are investigating Sandusky’s actions — and that a witness has claimed that the jailed molester and the booster teamed up to abuse a child who was believed to have been from his Second Mile charity.

“The person interviewed has brought up the name of a prominent Penn State booster and alleged that this man was involved with Sandusky in illegal behavior with young boys,” a source told the website.

The Postal Inspection Service is leading the investigation, and also is trying to determine if Sandusky sent letters across state lines to some of his victims for sexual purposes, CBS News reported.

Sandusky was convicted in June of sexually abusing 10 boys over 15 years in a scandal that shook Penn State to its core. He remains in jail awaiting sentencing.

In late 2011, federal prosecutors in Pennsylvania alleged Sandusky used the letters to lure his victims across state lines for his sexual purposes, CBS reported.

Investigators believe trips and gifts were used to seduce the victims and that six to seven individuals might have gotten letters.

A source told CBS that child pornography was found on at least one of Sandusky’s computers, though the images are not of his victims.

Postal inspectors also will reportedly look into The Second Mile charity, which Sandusky founded and used to meet young boys.

Investigators are searching a computer seized from Sandusky for any evidence of the letters.

Sandusky’s attorney, Joe Amendola, disputed the new allegations against his client.

“We believe they are unfounded and ridiculous,” he said in a statement. “Jerry continues to maintain his innocence.”

I was going to wait until Jerry was sentenced to voice my opinion on the rumor he pimped the boys out to rich donors but I think I will do it now.

I believe some of these donors are very powerful men. One that comes to mind is Dan Rooney, owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Ambassador to Ireland. He also endorsed President Obama in 2008. There is a picture of him at an undated Second Mile event. I'm not 100% positive it's him, but it sure does look like him, front row, seated on the left:

If he is the donor in question this will definitely destroy President Obama's re-election hopes. God help us.

Another one I had in mind is Rick Santorum. Slick Rick awarded Jerry Sandusky the Angels in Adoption award in 2002. Rick graduated from PSU in 1980 so he would have an interest in Penn State. Rick is also very homophobic and took offense when his last name Santorum became a term for gay intercourse. The biggest homophobes tend to be closet gays.

Penn State gets the hammer from the NCAA

Yesterday the NCAA announced that Penn State University will be banned from post season competition for four years, reduction of 20 scholarships a year for four years, $60 million fine which will go towards child abuse charities and programs, and all of Joe Paterno's wins from 1998-2011 vacated along with Tom Bradley's one victory while he was the interim coach, and five years probation.

Also the Big 10 Conference announced Penn State will not receive any bowl money that is divided between the schools and will be ineligible to play in the Big 10 Championship game while on probation.

On Sunday the statue of Joe Paterno in front of Beaver Stadium was removed as well.

Even though I preferred the Death Penalty for five years, this is a good start.  Penn State is being made an example of and it sends a message to all the other NCAA schools that this bullshit will not be tolerated.  Penn State football is broken for at least ten years, and the Penn State faithful can thank Graham Spanier, Tim Curley, Gary Schultz, Joe Paterno, Jerry Sandusky, and Mike McQueary for all this.

Of course the Paterno family had to whine about all this.  Here is what they (or son Jay) had to say about it:

Removing the statue:

“Tearing down the statue of Joe Paterno does not serve the victims of Jerry Sandusky’s horrible crimes or help heal the Penn State Community. We believe the only way to help the victims is to uncover the full truth. The Freeh report, though it has been accepted by the media as the definitive conclusion on the Sandusky scandal, is the equivalent of an indictment — a charging document written by a prosecutor — and an incomplete and unofficial one at that.
“To those who truly want to know the truth about Sandusky, it should matter that Joe Paterno has never had a hearing; that his legal counsel has never been able to interview key witnesses, all of whom are represented by lawyers and therefore unavailable; that there has never been an opportunity to review critical evidence which has not been made public; that selective evidence and the opinion of Mr Freeh is treated as the equivalent of a fair trial. Despite this obviously flawed and one-sided presentation, the University believes it must acquiesce and accept that Joe Paterno has been given a fair and complete hearing. We think the better course would have been for the University to take a strong stand in support of due process so that the complete truth can be uncovered.
“It is not the University’s responsibility to defend or protect Joe Paterno. But they at least should have acknowledged that important legal cases are still pending and that the record on Joe Paterno, the Board and other key players is far from complete.”

The sanctions:

“Sexual abuse is reprehensible, especially when it involves children, and no one starting with Joe Paterno condones or minimizes it. The horrific acts committed by Jerry Sandusky shock the conscience of every decent human being. How Sandusky was able to get away with his crimes for so long has yet to be fully understood, despite the claims and assertions of the Freeh report.
The release of the Freeh report has triggered an avalanche of vitriol, condemnation and posthumous punishment on Joe Paterno. The NCAA has now become the latest party to accept the report as the final word on the Sandusky scandal. The sanctions announced by the NCAA today defame the legacy and contributions of a great coach and educator without any input from our family or those who knew him best.
That the President, the Athletic Director and the Board of Trustees accepted this unprecedented action by the NCAA without requiring a full due process hearing before the Committee on Infractions is an abdication of their responsibilities and a breach of their fiduciary duties to the University and the 500,000 alumni. Punishing past, present and future students of the University because of Sandusky’s crimes does not serve justice. This is not a fair or thoughtful action; it is a panicked response to the public’s understandable revulsion at what Sandusky did.
The point of due process is to protect against this sort of reflexive action. Joe Paterno was never interviewed by the University or the Freeh Group. His counsel has not been able to interview key witnesses as they are represented by counsel related to ongoing litigation. We have had no access to the records reviewed by the Freeh group. The NCAA never contacted our family or our legal counsel. And the fact that several parties have pending trials that could produce evidence and testimony relevant to this matter has been totally discounted.
Unfortunately all of these facts have been ignored by the NCAA, the Freeh Group and the University.”

And here is MY response to the Paternos:

Shut the fuck up!  You are acting like Joe is the only victim in this whole saga.  Joe had numerous opportunities between 1998-2011 to speak up and he didn't.  That is his own fault.  A week before he died he was asked by a reporter if he knew about the 1998 investigation and he lied saying he did not.  The proof is in the e-mails.  He also committed perjury in the grand jury investigation.  You should be glad he is dead so he would not have to face federal charges.

I think what is really pissing you off is that your dad/husband can no longer call the shots at PSU like he did for forty years.  And since he is gone your family is now persona non grata as it should be.  You even demanded access to the university jet, and a prime suite box at Beaver Stadium for 25 years.  And he got that deal months before the scandal broke.  No wonder the administration wants nothing to do with you.

And by the way, shut the fuck up!  I will enjoy watching Iowa kick PSU's ass for at least ten years.  At least Coach Ferentz had a winning record against JoePa.

The NCAA needs to give Penn State the death penalty

For those who do not know when the NCAA gives a college athletic team the death penalty it means the team is barred from competition for at least a year.  The last time a major college football team got the death penalty was Southern Methodist University in 1987 for repeated violations which included boosters giving money to athletes.

That is what the NCAA needs to do.  To Penn State that is.

Covering up a child sex abuse is much worse than a booster giving money to an athlete.  Or an employee committing academic fraud so a basketball player can stay eligible, which happened at the University of Minnesota during the mid 1990's.  Or lack of institutional control at Miami.

Federal law requires that an educational institution report any sexual assaults on campus.  Obviously the 2001 incident where Mike McQueary caught Jerry Sandusky raping a boy in the shower never got reported.  That should be worthy of the NCAA's attention.

As a college sports fan I never liked the NCAA.  Brian Bosworth as big as an ass he was at Oklahoma was right.  The NCAA and it's member schools makes millions off these student athletes (or should I say athlete-students) yet will penalize a student if they transfer or someone buys them a burger.  If Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz was sitting in his office eating a pizza and QB James Vandenberg walks into his office and Coach offers him a slice, it would be a violation.

The NCAA needs to grow a pair and slap Penn State with the biggest penalty possible.  If they don't then they are just as big a pussy las Joe Paterno, Tim Curley, Gary Schultz, Graham Spanier, and Mike McQueary

Todd Palin is just like Jerry Sandusky...a predator

Before I begin the Sandusky/Palin comparisions I want to reflect on the Penn State sex abuse scandal.

As you all know ex-Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky was convicted of 45 counts of child sex abuse.  He will spend the rest of his life in prison which probably be 5-10 years due to his age (68) and the fact that even the most hardened, dangerous inmates hate child molestors and Jerry is going to have a hard time because of that.  Even though he will likely be sequestered from the general prison population shit happens and some inmate could get him.

Jerry is the most disgusting person in this whole saga, but I'm just as angry at Mike McQueary, Joe Paterno, and Dottie Sandusky.  Mike witnessed Jerry raping a boy in the shower at Penn State and did not beat the shit out of him like he should have.  Dottie ignored a boy's cry for help when Jerry was raping him in the basement of the Sandusky home.  And Joe had the clout to make one phone call to get Jerry arrested and he did not.

Jerry is going to appeal, and ex-Penn State officials like Graham Spanier, Tim Curley, and Gary Schultz will be getting their day in court over charges they covered up Jerry's behavior and lied about it.  And Penn State will be target of many lawsuits filed by the victims, so we will be hearing about this for a long time.

Another thing that makes me angry is the NCAA.  Why they have not sanctioned Penn State I do not know.  No violations occurred but Penn State committed a major moral failure and that deserves the NCAA's attention.

 Now on to Jerry and Todd.

Don't get me wrong, Jerry Sandusky is much much worse than Todd Palin, but they are both predators.  Jerry preyed on young boys who had bad home lives and psychological issues, Todd preyed on women who were in dire straits.  There was an unfounded rumor that Jerry pimped out the boys to wealthy Second Mile and Penn State donors.  Todd actually pimped Shailey Tripp out.

People close to Jerry such as Joe Paterno, Mike McQueary, and Dottie Sandusky ignored his behavior.  Sarah ignored Todd's behavior and issued a non-denial denial.  Penn State administration ignored Jerry's behavior.  The APD ignored Todd's.  Corruption all abound.

Jerry used his position as a Penn State defensive coordinator and founder of the Second Mile organization to groom boys for sex.  According to Shailey Todd used his position as First Dude to pimp girls out for government contracts.

Jerry will spend time behind iron bars.  Todd has not but he will someday.  Be afraid Todd.  Be very afraid.

Breaking News-Joe Paterno passes away

I can't help but feel sad about this. Even though he was morally bankrupt, he was a very good football coach. It's a shame he did not do more regarding Jerry Sandusky.

My father passed away from cancer so I do not wish cancer on anybody, not even the likes of Joe Paterno. Cancer is a horrible disease and so is chemotherapy.

Joe was the winningest football coach in college football history. He was the first coach to win all the major bowl games (Orange, Rose, Fiesta, Sugar). He won two national championships, coached five undefeated teams, and sent over 250 players to the NFL.

Another regret is this year my Iowa Hawkeyes lost to Penn State. They played before the scandal broke. I do take comfort that Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz had the best record of all coaches Joe coached against at 8-3. Kirk was even mentioned as a replacement for Joe.

But the biggest regret is how Joe handled Jerry Sandusky. Why he felt the need to protect him I do not know. Jerry retired in 1999, three years before Mike McQueary caught him in the shower with an underage boy. Joe had the clout to make one phone call to law enforcement to have that monster thrown in jail. But he did not and that is unforgivable.

My hope now for Joe is that God forgave him for not turning Jerry Sandusky in to the State College police. Hell is not fun.

Joe Paterno, Chuck Heath, and sex abuse

Unless you have been living under a rock you know Penn State football coach Joe Paterno has been fired due to a child sex abuse scandal involving one of his former assistants. Back in 2002 a graduate assistant walked in on former Defensive Coordinator Jerry Sandusky raping a 10 year old boy. The assistant reported what he witnessed to Paterno who in turn reported it to his athletic director but that is all he did. Paterno as a public figure had a moral obligation to notify law enforcement but did not which has resulted in his resignation.

Why do people have to protect their friends when they commit a heinous crime like child abuse? I just do not understand it. When a child's welfare is in question, it is expected you will do something about it. Hillary Clinton was correct in saying it takes a village to raise a child. Just because Jerry Sandusky was Paterno's top assistant doesn't mean Joe should turn a blind eye.

Another example of a person with clout helping a pedophile is Chuck Heath. Chuck's good friend Ray Carter was fired for protecting a teacher who was accused of child abuse. Chuck created a mob like atmosphere but was not successful in getting Ray reinstated. You can read more about that episode here.

I don't know if Chuck and George Koenig the pedophile in question were friends or not, but if Chuck protects someone who protects child molesters, then he is just as bad.
