As an Alaskan, a mother, and first lady who cares deeply about our families and our future, I was disturbed to learn about the very serious problems in the Alaska National Guard.

We’re all deeply concerned about the revelations of wrong-doing coming from the guard -- for the victims, for the men and women of the rank-and-file, and for our state. The terrible actions of a few, with the failure we’ve seen within the guard’s top ranks, are unforgivable. Our guard members and their families do incredible work on behalf of Alaskans, and they deserve better. 

I was with my husband, Sean, when he got the call in February with concrete information that called the Alaska  guard command into question. Sean immediately called the National Guard Bureau’s Office of Complex Investigations (OCI). 

Sean was very frustrated, but I saw grim determination, too. The report he received on the phone that day was in sharp contrast to what he was being told by guard leadership, and my husband was committed to getting to the bottom of this.

I am thankful that the bureau’s OCI responded so quickly and so professionally when my husband called for this independent, outside investigation. The insinuation by some that Sean would not take action is wrong. That is not who my husband is, and that’s not what I have seen him do. He took action, immediately, every time. When he got the facts, he acted. With every specific allegation of assault, he followed up personally.

I’m saddened these issues have turned so political; this is unfortunate for Alaskans and for the victims. It’s a disservice to the men and women who wear the uniform of the guard.

Ultimately, Sean is consistently trustworthy. He makes decisions in a steady and stable fashion, always looking out for others before himself. More importantly, he does not make politically motivated decisions as governor. Releasing the bureau report roughly two months before an election proves this. He has the conviction to get to the bottom of this and will see it through until every crime that has been committed is prosecuted, and an accountable command structure is restored.

Above all, it’s so important to him to respect the service of our guard members.The good men and women of the guard serve and sacrifice for our safety and security. My husband is committed to protecting the integrity of their mission, and ensuring they can carry out their work for all Alaskans in an atmosphere that is safe, with accountable leadership.

 A confidential military report sheds further light on rampant misdeeds within the Alaska National Guard.

A former pornography company owner and co-founder of an “end times” fundamentalist group who joined the Alaska National Guard in 2003 is now the guard’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Training, despite military investigators finding him directly responsible for empowering Alaska guard recruiters to sexually assault and harass female soldiers, recruits and civilians.

Lt. Col. Joseph R. Lawendowski, 46, was recommended for “other than honorable” discharge in a confidential report that military investigators submitted to high-ranking Alaska National Guard officers on March 3 of this year. The findings of this “AR 15-6” report were not released to the public. (AR 15-6 refers to Army Regulation 15-6, covering the investigation of misconduct by officers.)

The March 3 report finds that Lawendowski failed to act on multiple complaints of serious misconduct, including sexual assault, against four senior noncommissioned officers under his command. The report covers the period from November 2007 to May 2012 when Lawendowski was commander of the Alaska Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion (RRB). 

The four noncommissioned officers, or NCOs, are identified in the AR 15-6 report as Command Sergeant Major Brown, Master Sergeant Carson, Master Sergeant Nieves, and Sergeant First Class Tallant. National Guard investigators found that Lawendowski created a workplace climate of fear, intimidation and special treatment that emboldened those four NCOs to feel above the law, and that he was derelict in his duties by allowing the NCOs to retaliate against soldiers in the battalion who filed complaints.  

The investigators also found that Lawendowski had condoned and furthered illegal steroid use by RRB personnel, and had violated National Guard codes of conduct on multiple occasions. These included using government vehicles for outings to strip clubs, and Lawendowski being publicly intoxicated at the 2012 Iron Dog Race after-party. (Lawendowski arranged for the Alaska National Guard to become the presenting sponsor of the Iron Dog snowmobile race beginning in 2010. According to the AR 15-6 report, he improperly exchanged more than 10,000 text messages with a female Iron Dog employee during sponsorship negotiations in April and May 2010.)

Furthermore, the March 3 report cites numerous suspect credit card purchases made by Lawendowski using government-issued credit cards. It recommends the National Guard open a separate investigation of Lawendowski for misuse of government funds. 

The Press has obtained US Bank transaction records for Lawendowski’s government-issued credit card during the period in question. Purchases include plane tickets to Dubai and Sweden, payments to a luxury children’s clothing store in Paris, and $1,500 and $2,000 bar tabs in Anchorage and Juneau.

 And the shit is getting deeper too:

 Military investigation reports obtained by the Press detail rampant sexual misconduct beginning in 2007 by three Alaska Army National Guard recruiters whose joint nickname was “The Three-Headed Monster.”

The reports provide in-depth accounts of four sexual assaults and numerous cases of sexual harassment targeting fellow soldiers, new recruits, and civilian women, including high school JROTC cadets.

One National Guard investigation found that a recruiter sexually assaulted a civilian victim in late December 2010, more than a month after three military chaplains have said they personally warned Governor Sean Parnell that Guard officers were covering up rapes committed by recruiters.

The AR 15-6 investigation reports identify the three recruiters known as The Three Headed Monster as Sgt. Jarrett Carson, Master Sgt. John Nieves, and Sgt. 1st Class Shannon Tallant. (AR 15-6 refers to the military code for investigations of misconduct by officers.)

The reports, which have not been released to the public, were submitted to Alaska National Guard leaders in December 2013.

A former Alaska National Guard member said he blew the whistle to his chain of command more than seven years before the federal Department of Defense's Office of Complex Investigations issued a report in September detailing allegations of sexual assault, abuse of power and cover-ups.

 Lt. Col. Kenneth Blaylock spent nearly 30 years with the Alaska Army National Guard.
"The people there become your family," he said.

During that time, he headed up the recruiting and retention division. According to the OCI report, the division had a "high level of misconduct occurring within the Recruiting and Retention Command 2008-2009."

"What I found out is we were paying for products more than once," Blaylock said. "We only had one product for advertising, and yet we were paying for it more than twice. The money was going somewhere it didn't need to go to."

Blaylock said in 2007, he alerted Catherine Jorgensen, who was then the Guard's deputy chief of staff and personnel, and Gen. Tom Katkus, before he was promoted to adjutant general, that he was suspicious of soldiers using money from the recruiting and retention account.

When asked to comment on the Guard's policy on credit card charges, a Guard spokesperson sent this statement:

"We are redirecting our efforts from looking into anonymous and/or unsubstantiated claims that lack detail, and that we are unable to verify," wrote Lt. Col. Candis Olmstead. "There are a broad range of requests, and we feel it is counterproductive to address these allegations and claims stemming from individual complaints. Our priority is to focus on the way forward and to work on developing and communicating plans to correct past issues."

After raising concerns to his chain of command, Blaylock said he was reassigned to another unit.

He also began hearing from fellow Guardsmen and Guardswomen about other problems.
"When the first sexual assault victims started talking to me, it wasn't like they were just coming forward, saying they had been raped," Blaylock said. "It wasn't like they said, 'Hey, sir, I've been raped.' They were just talking. They wanted to talk and tell someone about it. They would tell me bits and pieces, but never quite get to the point. When I finally went back and there were four of them one right after the other, I confronted them, just asked them: 'Were you raped?' They said yes. And I said, 'Was it by someone in the National Guard?' (They said) 'Yes.'"

"Many of them told me they had tried to talk to law enforcement in the past and nothing had happened," said Blaylock.

His chain of command failed to act, so in 2010, Blaylock went outside the Guard. He compiled a summary of concerns and submitted it to the governor's office and Anchorage police.

Blaylock said his concerns were never taken seriously until he met with investigators with the Department of Defense National Guard Bureau.

"I was labeled a crackpot by General Katkus," Blaylock said. "Essentially, anything I tried to bring forward after that was muddied because my name was attached to it. I had a lot of people who basically wouldn't talk to me, including in law enforcement."

In 2012, Blaylock said he was told to leave the Guard.

"Gen. Katkus held a special board and had a bunch of packets reviewed, where three whistle-blowers were essentially retired forced into retirement," he said.

Blaylock said he will continue to speak out in hopes that shedding light on these issues will change the culture within the National Guard, the place he called home for 30 years.

How likely are you to be raped? It may be a question of geography. A sobering CNN series of reports Tuesday examined rape statistics across the country and uncovered a wide variety of crime rates – with Alaska clocking in at triple the national average. (Even more shockingly, its child sexual assault rate is six times the national average.) Gov. Sean Parnell calls it “an epidemic.” And statistics paint an incomplete picture, because they only reveal reported rapes. The true rate, in Alaska and nationwide, is likely considerably higher.

CNN’s John D. Sutter, who put together the new series of reports from the state, is not the first to point out Alaska’s alarming incidence of sexual assault – or to try to understand the reasons for it. Last spring, Carey Restino wrote in the Alaska Dispatch that “Boys who witness domestic violence are twice as likely to abuse their own partners and children when they become adults. So here we have a large population of the state being abused, and with every incident, the likelihood that the problem will continue to get worse, generation after generation, increases.” And last fall, Business Insider’s Erin Fuchs examined “Why Rape Is Much More Common in Alaska” and noted that an astonishing 37 percent of Alaskan women report having experienced sexual violence. She also reported that “Native Alaskans make up 61% of rape victims in the state,” though unlocking why the rape rate is so high in the Native American population remains a challenge. Another problem, she pointed out, is Alaska’s ruralness. “Women simply can’t rely on police to come help them if they’re raped,” she wrote. “One 19-year-old Native Alaska woman who lived in a village of 800 called the police after a stranger broke into her home and raped her in the middle of the night, the Times reported in 2012. The police didn’t answer, so she left a message. They never returned her call.”

In CNN, Sutter notes that “at least 75 communities” in the state have no local law enforcement whatsoever, and that help, even when and if it does arrive, almost always takes a very long time. “Much of Alaska,” he says, “is basically lawless.” And if you think the nationwide rate for sexual assault conviction is alarmingly minuscule, imagine living in a place where you can’t even get the cops to come to your door in the first place.

But change is coming. Gov. Parnell has recently been making efforts to expand law enforcement in remote areas, asking for expansions to the Village Public Safety Officers program. They’re a proven deterrent – 

Sutter says, “Rates of serious injury from assaults are also 40% lower in villages with a VPSO.”
Yet in removed, tightly knit communities where sexual assault is often a domestic matter and abuse frequently occurs in the context of generations of learned behavior, it’s going to take more than additional officers to truly stem the tide. Parnell has been spearheading “Choose Respect” rallies across the state to bring the issues of domestic abuse and sexual violence out into the open. Fighting sexual assault takes a three-pronged effort involving money, resources and education. Victims need to know that they will be dealt with promptly and compassionately. Assailants need to know their actions will have serious consequences. And justice belongs in every corner of the nation, for every American, from sea to Bering Sea.

I have some solutions.

For starters Alaska needs a state income tax.  They need a tax to build better roads to these native communities.  They also need funding for more VPSOs, rape crisis centers, judges, and other law enforcement personnel.  The only way to get funding is more taxes.

I know Governor Parnell has been trying to get more funding and Sen Lisa Murkowski has introduced legislation in fighting sex crimes, but it's not enough.

It's alarming that over 1/3 of Alaska's women have been raped or abused.  There is a good chance that Sarah Palin may have been a victim herself.  I wonder if that is the reason she charged rape victims for those kits, an act so outrageous the state legislature banned it.  She must fee if she was a victim, so should all women.  I wrote a post a few years ago about it.

Madison - A state representative is drawing heat for saying that his father had told him when he was young that "some girls rape easy" as a way to warn him that a woman could agree to sex but then later claim that it wasn't consensual.

Freshman Rep. Roger Rivard (R-Rice Lake) in December discussed a case with the Chetek Alert newspaper in which a 17-year-old high school senior was charged with sexual assault for having sex with an underage girl in the school's band room.

The newspaper quoted him as saying his father warned him, "Some girls rape easy" - meaning that after the fact they can change what they say about whether sex was consensual. On Wednesday, Rivard told the Journal Sentinel that the article did not provide full context of his comments and that his father's exact words had been slightly different from how they appeared in the Chetek Alert.

He told the Journal Sentinel that his father had advised him not to have premarital sex, and he took that seriously.

"He also told me one thing, 'If you do (have premarital sex), just remember, consensual sex can turn into rape in an awful hurry,' " Rivard said. "Because all of a sudden a young lady gets pregnant and the parents are madder than a wet hen and she's not going to say, 'Oh, yeah, I was part of the program.' All that she has to say or the parents have to say is it was rape because she's underage. And he just said, 'Remember, Roger, if you go down that road, some girls,' he said, 'they rape so easy.'

"What the whole genesis of it was, it was advice to me, telling me, 'If you're going to go down that road, you may have consensual sex that night and then the next morning it may be rape.' So the way he said it was,

'Just remember, Roger, some girls, they rape so easy. It may be rape the next morning.'

"So it's been kind of taken out of context."

About three hours after speaking to the Journal Sentinel, Rivard issued a written statement that he said was meant to further clarify his points.

"Sexual assault is a crime that unfortunately is misunderstood and my comments have the potential to be misunderstood as well," his statement said. "Rape is a horrible act of violence. Sexual assault unfortunately often goes unreported to police. I have four daughters and three granddaughters and I understand the importance of making sure that awareness of this crime is taken very seriously."
Rivard's original comments were made 10 months ago but have resurfaced as Rivard finds himself in a tight race against Democrat Stephen Smith. Smith said he didn't learn of the comments until August, when U.S. Rep. Todd Akin of Missouri drew controversy for claiming women's bodies could prevent pregnancy in cases of "legitimate rape." His fellow Republicans from around the country urged Akin to drop out of his race for U.S. Senate, a call he did not heed.
Smith called Rivard's comments offensive.

"I'm offended to think that my sister or my daughters would be thought of in that manner," he said. "I feel Roger is out of touch with the majority of voters and his views are extreme."
Nichole Kathol, president of the Barron County Domestic Abuse Project, said she was alarmed when she read his original comments, but could not get area media interested in them at the time. She said he appeared to want to give the benefit of the doubt to those accused of rape, rather than to those who say they are the victim of it.

"It portrays women as the perpetrator of the violence being perpetrated against them," she said. "He's blaming the victim and implying the definition of rape is all too encompassing."
Pennie Meyers, interim executive director of the Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault, issued a statement in response to Rivard's comments that said people in Wisconsin need to be better educated about sexual violence.

"Unfortunately, comments like these are all too common, and an indication of ways in which the culture is generally under educated about what sexual assault is; sexual assault remains an underreported and under prosecuted crime," her statement said.

In his December interview with the Chetek Alert, Rivard was asked to discuss the case in which the local high school student had been charged with sexual assault. It is illegal to have sex with someone under age 18 in Wisconsin, and that has caused controversy at times when two teenagers are involved in a sexual relationship.

Rivard indicated in that interview that he was open to so-called Romeo and Juliet legislation that would reduce or eliminate penalties for minors close in age who have sex, but he did not explicitly endorse such legislation.

Ryan has now withdrew his endorsement

Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan has dropped his endorsement of a Wisconsin lawmaker who said that his father had told him "some girls, they rape so easy" as a way to warn him that women could consent to sex but then later claim they hadn't.

Gov. Scott Walker and U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson have not yet responded to inquiries about whether they are standing by their endorsements of freshman state Rep. Roger Rivard of Rice Lake.

It is the second time Ryan, a Janesville congressman, has withdrawn his support from a fellow Republican when they made comments about rape. In August, Ryan and other Republicans unsuccessfully urged U.S. Rep. Todd Akin of Missouri to drop out of his U.S. Senate race when he said women's bodies can "shut down" to prevent pregnancies in instances of "legitimate rape."

So in Roger's eyes Bristol Palin was raped very easily by Levi Johnston.

Mitt Romney pals around with rapists

SALT LAKE CITY — A conservative activist charged with raping four women rubbed shoulders with some of Utah's most prominent Republican politicians and served as co-chairman of a 2007 fundraiser for GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Many of them, including Sens. Orrin Hatch and Mike Lee, Rep. Jason Chaffetz, Gov. Gary Herbert and 4th Congressional District candidate Mia Love, have attended a barbecue Greg Peterson hosted what he called the Rocky Mountain Conservatives Conference at his lakeside cabin the past three years.

Peterson organized it as a "healing" event in 2010 after the contentious state GOP convention that ousted Sen. Bob Bennett and a nasty primary election between Tim Bridgewater and Lee.

Politicians eager to put those ugly scenes behind them and wanting to associate with what appeared to be a new tea party power base in Utah's GOP were drawn to the confab despite not really knowing Peterson.

"That's exactly what it was," said Hatch campaign manager Dave Hansen, who attended the first event as state Republican Party chairman.

Gregory Nathan Peterson, 37, of Orem, faces 23 felony and two misdemeanor charges in connection with the alleged rapes of four women. One of those attacks, according to investigators, happened at his cabin near Heber City just one day after last year's barbecue.

On his Facebook page, Peterson claims to be good friends with the Romney family and that he attended Brigham Young University with Josh Romney, the presidential candidate's youngest son. He posted photos of himself with Mitt Romney and Josh Romney on Facebook.

A Sept., 2. 2011, post reads, "Backstage w/Mitt in Boston before a big event. I have worked for and with Mitt Romney outside of politics for years. Great leader."

Peterson is listed as co-chairman on an invitation for a Romney fundraising breakfast at the former Salt Lake Olympic leader's one-time Deer Valley home in 2007. Peterson also made a $2,300 donation to Romney's presidential campaign at that time, Federal Election Commission records show.

“We are appalled at this situation. He hasn't been associated with our campaign since 2007 and you can believe he won't be going forward," the Romney campaign said Thursday.

In local Republican circles, Peterson apparently played the role of a wealthy conservative politico who claimed to have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for GOP candidates. Utah politicians described him as talking a good game but not delivering.

"He wanted people to think he was bigger than he really was," said former state Rep. Carl Wimmer, who attended the conferences in 2010 and 2011.

"There has always been a consistent pattern with Mr. Peterson. He takes credit for things he has not done. He overblows his accomplishments quite dramatically."

Utah tea party leader and former gubernatorial candidate David Kirkham described Peterson as "exuberant" in his political opinions. Peterson wrote a blog called the Conservative Moose and was prolific on Facebook.

"He was kind of a familiar face to many people," Kirkham said.

Wimmer said Peterson tried to give the impression he was rich, but "I don't believe he was or is."

Peterson says he is a certified financial planner and owns an Orem-based wealth management company and an online trading website. He said on Facebook that he has an MBA in finance from BYU.

Wimmer said Peterson offered to co-host a fundraiser for him and represented that he had raised lots of money for political candidates.

"I don’t think he ever raised a dime for anybody," said Wimmer, whose 4th Congressional District campaign ended at the state GOP convention in April.

Peterson billed this past May's conference as "the CPAC of the West," a reference to the national Conservative Political Action Committee that draws thousands of activists to Washington, D.C., each year. The agenda included GOP attorney general candidates John Swallow and Sean Reyes in a Lincoln/Douglas-style debate at Wasatch High School. A barbecue featuring wild elk and a golf-into-the-lake contest followed at the cabin.

Wimmer didn't attend this year because he said he did not want to associate with Peterson after hearing rumblings within the Republican Party regarding possible criminal charges against Peterson. Also, he said his wife told him she felt uncomfortable around Peterson.

Hatch didn't go to the barbecue this year, either. Hansen said it turned into an anti-Hatch event starting in 2011 with a straw poll pitting the senator against Chaffetz, who was considering a run at Hatch. Chaffetz won the straw poll. This year, the conference featured a leader from the national tea party organization FreedomWorks, which campaigned heavily against Hatch.

Utah officeholders Thursday were distancing themselves from Peterson. Some of them appear in photos with him that are posted on various websites.

Herbert campaign spokesman Marty Carpenter said the governor has his picture taken with thousands of people at hundreds of events every year.

"Mr. Peterson has no formal affiliation with the governor's campaign, nor has he ever. In fact, the governor declined Mr. Peterson's invitation (to the event) this past spring," he said.

Lee attended the 2011 conference because of other people who were there, not because of Peterson, said his spokesman Brian Phillips.

"The notion that he was a Mike Lee guy is inaccurate," he said. "My boss certainly didn't have a personal relationship with him at all."

Hansen said Hatch wouldn't know Peterson if he walked by him.

Love's campaign declined to comment.

Utah Democratic Party Chairman Jim Dabakis said he hopes Republicans would denounce the alleged sexual assaults and ban Peterson from future GOP activities.

In addition to Romney, Peterson posted on Facebook pictures of himself with Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Texas Rep. Ron Paul and South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint.

Besides hosting his own events, Peterson showed up at other political gatherings but apparently didn't work on anyone's campaign, Kirkham said.

"He was here and he was there," he said. "He was kind of off in his own world."

What can you expect, Mitt is a Mormon who hates women so I bet he approves of Peterson's behavior.

While mayor of Wasilla you made rape victims pay for their rape kits until the state outlawed the practice.

You want to deny rape victims the right to abort their babies, thus prolonging their trauma and agony.

You also endorsed Wayne Anthony Ross for Attorney General, who believes men have the right to rape their wives.

And you fired Walt Monegan who complained you wouldn't budget more money for rape victims.

Then you scream that men want to rape your daughters and David Letterman made a bad joke about Willow.

But don't worry Sarah. No one is going to rape you ever again. Especially after they see you dressed like this:

Republicans are amblivient towards sex abuse victims

Joe Paterno who is a Republican and is buddies with George H.W. Bush Sr. and was a good friend of Gerald Ford knew that his former assistant Jerry Sandusky is a pedophile and did nothing about it.

Michele Bachmann, Mike Huckabee, Rick Perry and Sarah Palin believe a rape victim should have to carry a baby that was concieved during a rape to full term.

Sarah Palin tried to charge rape victims the cost of rape kits while mayor of Wasilla.

Tim Pawlenty pardoned a sex offender only to have the offender abuse his daughter.

Mike Huckabee also had a hand in getting a sex offender clemency, who had raped a distant cousin of Democrat Bill Clinton. This sex offender would also re-offend and commit murder.

Current PA Governor Tom Corbett approved a $3 million taxpayer paid grant to The Second Mile, the charity ran by accused pedophile Jerry Sandusky while the investigation was going on.

Sarah Palin's father Chuck Heath protested the firing of an elementary school principal who refused to fire a teacher accused of sexual abuse.

And the Republican Party is supposed to be all about family values. Sounds like rape and sexual abuse are family values.

I certainly hope not, but by observing her actions and words, you have to wonder.

Sarah uses a lot of sexual innuendo. Accuses President Obama of not having the cojones to deal with immigration. Cojones is Spanish for testicles, or balls.

When David Letterman made a joke about Willow, Sarah got all pissed off about it and called him a pervert.

Joe McGinniss moves in next door to write his book on Sarah, she freaks out and accuses him of trying to look into her bedroom window.

She also called reporters limp, impotent, and gutless when they actually had the "cojones" to report criticism of her. Impotent if of course when a man cannot get aroused.

In a Vanity Fair article Sarah is quoted while getting ready for a city council meeting that she is going to wear her push up bra tonight so she can get what she wants.

She also accused Shawn Christy and others of wanting to rape her daughters.

Victims of sexual abuse are more likely to engage in sexual behaviors like promiscuity, sexual innuendo, and dressing provocatively. They also have low self esteem. Sarah has had multiple sexual relationships with Brad Hanson and Curtis Menard and she definitely has low self esteem.

Another interesting thing is her relationship with her father, Chuck Heath. He seems like a predator. He bought a shirt that said "Coldest State, Hottest Governor". What kind of father does that? My dad didn't even like me wearing Co Ed Naked T-Shirts when I was in high school and college.

He also made a comment about kids losing their underwear? Ewww!

And in Sarah Palin's Alaska he showed unusual interest in Kate's daughters.

One other aspect about Sarah is she shows callousness towards other sexual abuse victims, like making rape victims pay for their rape kits:

One of the reasons Sarah fired Walt Monegan as Public Safety Commissioner was over the budget. He wanted more funding to fight sexual abuse and going after rapists. Sarah said no. The other reason is obvious, he would not fire Mike Wooten.

I don't know if Sarah is a sexual abuse victim, nor is it anyone's business, but if she did she needs HELP!

Lately there have been numerous topics which I have been wanting to address, but it seems that what everybody wants to hear about is whether or not Bristol's account is what really happened that night in the tent with my brother.

I guess I'll start off with her reference to the wine coolers being her "first brush with alcohol". If my memory serves me correctly, and remember I was the sober one, it was Bristol herself who was asking around trying to buy alcohol before they even started packing to go on this particular camping trip.

So I think it is clear that she was always planning to drink while they were camping. I know for a fact that my brother was not replacing her empty bottles with full ones, because Levi never liked her to drink since it just made her more promiscuous (Which those guys in Juneau will confirm, right Bristol? ;)

Bristol only has herself to blame for the amount of alcohol she consumed that night. Maybe she tends to forget that we still have mutual friends,  and that one of my good friends was actually there that night.

My brother also provided a recap of the night right after he got home. (Remember Bristol, Levi and I use to be best friends before you got your claws into him and forbid him to talk to me.)

When I first read this story it made me laugh out loud. Does anybody really believe a good Christian girl, such as Bristol claims to be, would really lose her virginity in a tent? I don't think so. Usually girls want their first time to be meaningful and special.

Besides there happens to be a small detail which Bristol chose to leave out. You see there was another couple right next to Bristol and Levi in that very SAME tent.

So the question we have to ask is, was the other girl also being "taken advantage of?"

Did she also have her "virginity stolen?"

Are we to believe that there were TWO victims that night?  Because that is certainly NOT the story that I heard!

As for the part about Bristol waking up alone? She seems to have conveniently forgotten the part where she demanded that Levi get up early and start a fire for her so that she wouldn't be cold in the morning. Yes, her rapist got up first thing in the morning, to cut wood and build her a warm fire, so that she would be as comfortable as possible that summer morning. It is remarkable how those Palins always twist the truth in order to constantly appear to be the victim isn't it?. Un-freaking believable.

As for that "rape" allegation, I have to wonder if any of the millions of girls out there who truly have been sexually assaulted take offensive at Bristol claiming that her consensual sexual encounter in that tent gives her the right to place herself in their company?  After all it is people like Bristol, girls who claim they were sexually assaulted when in fact they weren't, who give excuses for people to doubt the claims of REAL victims of assault or rape.

Personally I have never even heard of a single case where a girl continues to date her rapist for years, while enjoying an active and consensual sex life, and then actively TRYING to have a baby with this person who supposedly "took advantage of her". Are we to believe that Bristol was drunk on wine coolers throughout that whole relationship?

After I read Bristol's account I started thinking back to that summer. My mind was searching for every little thing I could remember, and remember I did..

One of the things that I remembered was that my much older cousin (he is in his 30's) came up from the lower 48 to stay in our house while working with my father. We made him a bed in our downstairs living room which happened to be very close to my brother's room. Apparently Bristol, the virgin, woke my cousin up several times with all of her .....well let's just say "enthusiasm."  And by the way this was BEFORE that now notorious camping trip!

The next morning my cousin called my brother aside and had a talk with him. I think Levi was far more embarrassed than Bristol was because the next night she wasn't any quieter.

Now I don't usually feel comfortable talking about another person's sex life. I never even liked talking about Bristol trying to get pregnant because I feel that's a very personal topic

However, after she made those hurtful and indefensible statements in her book about my brother, I decided no matter how uncomfortable I feel talking about this that it is something which I must do, because no one deserves to be accused of such a disgusting and horrendous thing. Especially not my brother who, believe it or not, truly loved Bristol with all of his heart.

Sadly it is now very obvious that his love was never truly reciprocated. Trust me, he would never do to her what she has so casually done to him. Never.

The part where Mercede says Levi never liked bristol to drink because it made her more slutty convinces me that she may have been the one doing the raping.

Bristol could have raped Levi

Bristol says that during that fateful camping trip she was drinking.  Since she was drinking the other people there were probably drinking too, Levi included.  Now if Levi and Bristol were five sheets to the wind and since alcohol clouds the mind Bristol could have decided to have sex with Levi whether Levi wanted to or not and Levi did not remember what was going on until he woke up in the morning and being a guy decided to brag about it to his buddies.

What I am saying is that there two sides to every story.  Can't wait to hear Levi's.  Bristol Palin may be a rapist.

Rex Butler gives a half assed attempt to defend Levi

Bristol Palin is not telling the truth when she claims in a new book that her virginity was "stolen'' by boyfriend Levi Johnston, Johnston's attorney said Thursday.

In the just released book, "Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far,'' Palin -- the daughter of former Gov. Sarah Palin -- claims she drank so many wine coolers on the night in question that she has no recollection of events, and that she woke the next morning with "something obviously askew'' only to be told by a girlfriend that "you definitely had sex with Levi."

Johnston attorney Rex Butler disagreed with the part of the story that has Bristol so drunk she didn't know what was happening.

"That's obviously not true,'' he said.

Several websites have already raised the question of whether Johnston raped Bristol.

Alaska laws says that "an offender commits the crime of sexual assault in the first degree if...the offender engages in sexual penetration with a person who the offender knows is unaware that a sexual act is being committed."

Sexual assault in the first degree is what is commonly known as rape.

Bristol's book clearly paints her as being "unaware that a sexual act'' was being committed on the night she lost her virginity.

As she tells the story, the last thing she remembers is sitting by a campfire laughing with friends after consuming a lot of wine coolers. The next thing she remembers is waking up in a tent with Levi's empty sleeping bag next to hers and the sound of friends "outside the tent laughing,'' according to the book. She then texts a female friend, who comes to Bristol's tent to inform her she is no longer a virgin.

Butler, one of Alaska's better known criminal attorneys, admitted that if true the story sounds a lot like rape, but he said the story isn't true. And he seemed a little perplexed that Bristol, who had a child with Johnston, would be telling it.

"That's not a good thing for her son to digest on down the road,'' Butler said.

What Bristol's mother, Sarah, thinks of all this is unclear. So far she has only Tweeted, as is her style. Sarah's Twitter message said this:

"Bristol's Book: Shocking; Refreshing; Honest; INSPIRING! Perfect. Plus 'Not Afraid of Life' gives insight into how media can drive false narrative. Spot on! (& she's courageous to write what she wrote, warning about decisions/consequences in encouraging way, esp for teens!)"

It is unclear as what "shocking" references, or whether Sarah thinks Bristol's suggestion that losing ones virginity while being passed out drunk (or at least so drunk you've forgotten the evening) is part of a "warning about decisions/consequences in encouraging way, esp. for teens!"

Butler said that although Bristol lied about her sexual encounter with Levi, he doubts his client has much legal recourse. Johnston, who was injected into the Palin whirlwind after Sara decided to run for vice-president, is now a public figure, Butler said. As such, he couldn't win a defamation suit unless he could prove his ex-girlfriend's statements are malicious.

"I don't think anyone would buy that,'' Butler said. The legal bar there is a high one. To prove Bristol's statement malicious, Butler would have to demonstrate she is telling a story she knows to be false. All Bristol would need to demonstrate is that she is telling a story that is true to the best of her recollection.

On the other, if her story is documentable  -- if there are witnesses who can support the story as her book indicates -- Johnston could find himself the subject of a rape investigation. Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell, Palin's successor, has been a staunch advocate of a state crackdown on men who take advantage of women who are incapacitated. He this year advocated, according to the governor's website, that sentences for sex offenses be increased when there were "'aggravating factors,” including the defendant's knowledge that the victim had consumed drugs or alcohol, or a previous dating relationship with the victim."

The story Bristol is now telling about the loss of her virginity has never been told before. In previous interviews, she has at least hinted that she might have been a willing sexual partner, saying that abstinence from sex is "not realistic at all" for teenagers.

Bristol's premarital, teenage sex first became news during Sarah's run for vice-president alongside Arizona's John McCain. The McCain-Palin campaign at the time disclosed Bristol's pregnancy and portrayed her and Levi as two teenagers in love who were making plans to get married. Levi told the Associated Press that he and Bristol had been planning on getting married for a long time.

There was even talk of a possible White House wedding, but things did not go so well and by 2009, Levi and Bristol had split.

A year later, however, they announced in US Magazine that they once again planned to get married. This time over the objections of Sarah and her husband, Todd.

But that second engagement went bust, too. Since then, they have been on unfriendly terms. Levi is now writing his own book.

Levi you need to ditch Rex and get a better attorney.  If I was living in AK and an attorney I would represent you pro bono.   I seriously think Rex is on the Palin payroll being paid with Sarah Pac funds.  

Bristol was not raped.  If she was why didn't she report it to the police?   You also don't black out on drinking too many wine coolers.  Unless he slipped her a roofie, then yes he did rape her.  Bristol has no credibility at all so I will call bullshit on the rape claim.

Reason #26 Sarah Palin should not be voted for President

She wanted rape victims to pay for their rape kits. This proves she is not a feminist. Then again she endorsed Wayne Anthony Ross for attorney general who advocated marital rape. I think Sarah wants rape to be legal.
